Jul 02, 2005 15:50:07 Ok, is the 3rd edition Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil just a new edition reprint of the origional campaign starting with Village of Hommlet and onwards? I was considering running the origional but some of the players have RttTEE so if it is the same how close are the two?

Jul 03, 2005 0:24:40 They are about as similar as two completely dissimilar things in a pod. Having RttToEE will not give your players much insight into the original.

Jul 03, 2005 4:29:44 They'll know about Lareth the Beautiful. As I recall it also explains about Zuggtmoy. They'll have a pretty good idea of the Moathouse layout, and may be expecting the giant toads. They'll have very limited knowledge of the ground floor and first level of the temple as I recall.

But the part of the Return that is centered around the original area takes up about the same part of the adventure as Village of Hommlet did in the original so it isn't much, really.
