#1 zombiegleemax Sep 10, 2003 2:51:40	Anybody know whatever actually happened to Lum the Mad and where I can find his story? I was always amused by the bizarre artifacts that he'd built that showed up all over 2e books- Planescape supplements, for instance, and even an appearance of a strange apparatus of his in Baldur's Gate 2. Anybody know where I could get some info on him, or whether or not he's still out there in the world(s)? :P
#2 zombiegleemax Sep 10, 2003 8:39:08	the only true info is in the 1edADnD Revised DMG 1979 under the Artifacts listing of his item. some vague possible references also appear in the Glossography of the World of Greyhawk in the Great Kingdom. a similar spin in 2ed might by the 3 adventure set in the Lost Tombs series but it was not Lum. or the Falcon series
#3 zombiegleemax Sep 10, 2003 10:39:07	Thats the way it was in the olden days of 1st Edition, esp pre-FR, there was little in the way of cannon outside influence on the game, Greyhawk was handed over as Greyhawk, in a box, and that was that. More modules and less sourcebooks (I think there were 4 Rules Books, 3 collections of monsters, two survival guides, a book of dieties and one about the planes). Of these only 3 were really essential to start, and the others tended to get bought up over the years. Now look at the 3rd Ed Books out there already. No wonder I could afford to be into roleplaying on just a paper round.
