| #2zombiegleemaxMay 27, 2005 19:30:55 | Weapons of Choice are an optional rule, introduced in Skills & Powers–if i remember correctly. It's effects are a permanent +1 to hit with the choosen weapon for the cost of 2 CP's or 1 proficiency slot. If memory serves, any class may purchase this ability. For instance, if you choose "Bastard Sword" as your character's weapon of choice, all bastard swords the character uses recieve this +1 bonus to hit (but not other types of swords, such as broad, long, two handed, etc.). This means you cannot choose "Swords" or "Bows", it must be a single, specific type of weapon you are proficient in. |

| #4zombiegleemaxMay 27, 2005 22:59:37 | thank you Hiryu, fully aware and my 5th level fighter is weapons proficient to 2 handed swords, he still likes to chuck a dagger for fun! my other fighter is not proficient and uses sword and cross bow |
| #5TenzhiMay 28, 2005 0:07:16 | Mace of Disruption +2 with the extra percentage to disintegrate undead. Or, if a halfling, then I prefer a Hornblade - cuts through stone and wood like butter. |
| #6weasel_fierceMay 28, 2005 1:34:53 | Mace of Disruption for that undead spanking joy. Failing that, a stick, because well, there's always one around |
| #7hairfootJun 06, 2005 7:35:40 | A stick, because well, there's always one around Amen. Be it a broken chair-leg or a severed goblin arm, the club is truly the adventurer's best friend. |
| #8zombiegleemaxJun 11, 2005 22:01:44 | I prefer a Hornblade - cuts through stone and wood like butter. Tenzhi, where are you getting your information on the Hornblade? I looked it up in both 1e and 2e books and it doesn't say anywhere that it can cut through stone or wood. Is the version you have a unique weapon? R- |
| #9i-m_batman_dupJun 13, 2005 3:19:14 | I likes me a batarang; but failing that, a hand axe is always nice to have handy when you're facing things with limbs that need lopping. |
| #10ElendurJun 13, 2005 10:41:20 | Darts. I decided long ago that they must be like Jarts, and practiced flinging them underhand style at things in my backyard. With practice you could get them to fly in a reasonably flat trajectory suitable for dungeon combat. |
| #11dugald_the_lexicographerJun 13, 2005 11:45:22 | Several favorites right out of the book (or nearly): Rapier of Quickness (aka Short Sword of Quickness) - +2 and always strikes first or Rapier of Speed (aka Scimitar of Speed) - same as above, but improves attks/rnd by one category (i.e. 3/2 becomes 2/1) Dagger of Throwing with Rings of Readiness - returns each round to be thrown again and again and again ... Long Sword, +5 Defender - how can you beat a Long Sword for availability, and the Defender for flexibility?!? Now don't get me started on custom magical weapons! |
