#1 i-m_batman_dup Feb 10, 2005 5:54:55	The DMG provides random wilderness encounter tables for the monsters from the Monster Manual, and the Fiend Folio updates it with the critters from that volume. But the Monster Manual II came out with a new form of encounter table, and left it up to the individual DM to make his/her own unique versions. I'd rather see an updated version of the DMG-style random encounter tables, with the Monster Manual II beasties included. Has anyone come up with that sort of encounter table for all the monsters from the three 1E AD&D monster books? I thought there might have been something like that in an old issue of Dragon, but apparently not (or at least I can't find it listed in any of the indices I've checked).
#2 weasel_fierce Feb 10, 2005 13:23:39	It might be easier to just use the tables from 2nd edition, since they consolidated most of the stuff anyways. To be honest though, I've always found encounter tables to be a drag. I prefer just picking out two or three likely encounters for the region, then throwing one in, at my leisure
