Hey guys, just wanting a quick powerful 10th level build for a game tonight.. Any ideas?

Was thinking Cleric of Elhonna to turn Undead/Animals/Plants when possible but not 100% sure what to do..?

Maybe a Human DMM Persistant Warrior Cleric?

All WOTC books, 32pt buy, Most races allowed

Cheers!!

X1/Cleric 2/Master of Shrouds 7

X can be anything with a good Will save. Good options are Monk, Wizard (Abrupt Jaunt), and Dread Necro.

Look here for ideas: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=973248

And here is a MoS handbook: http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=3310.0

Libris Mortis. Its main thing is summoning incorporeal undead. You can enter it early by multiclassing into something else with a good Will save, which lets you summon more powerful stuff than you "should" be able to. You can also still be a DMM cleric, as it requires Extra Turning to enter, and gives you another Extra Turning as a bonus.

This is the level where an ordained champion cleric starts to get good. All the power of a traditional dmm cleric, but you use your persistent spells to persist spells other than divine power since you can activate that as a swift action.

I've never read about that Master of Shrouds.. It's not bad at all! Thanks!

Using the Abrupt Jaunt Wizard, what two schools would you drop PhaedrusXY?

Ordained Champion sounds interesting.. Got a build for this?

Enchantment and... I'm not sure. If you expect to play long enough to where you could reliably use magic items like scrolls or staves for Contingency, you might keep Evocation. Necromancy is nice to keep for Command Undead scrolls or wands. I guess you could drop Abjuration, since you get pretty much all you'll use from that from Cleric.

It doesn't really matter much, as you'll never have more than 1st level wizard casting, anyway. So just think about what kinds of magic items you might want to use later, and maybe what kinds of 1st level spells that might actually be useful, like Nerveskitter and True Strike.

Going with the wizard route gives you a bit of MAD (or leaves you with very few uses of Abrupt Jaunt per day), and the other routes have their advantages, too.

So you would suggest?

Just looking at what Domains to use as well..?

Ordained Champion can be qualified for using the war domain, mostly.
This rocks, because it then decides that, really, you should get a bonus domain anyway. I mean, it was going to give you war, right? So it's only fair. Any bonus domain available to Hex||Hier!
It lets you trade in domain abilities for feats, which with cloistered cleric can net you two free feats (some qualifications) as you come in.
It gives you bizarre and wonderful abilities.
Unfortunately, it has a deity requirement, and so cannot be used with Ur-Priest.

The full write-up is in CompChamp, and as for builds, it's hard to go wrong with it, really. Just lay it out like a normal DMM cleric, blaster\persister\other, and roll dps... er... deep. You will end up with four domains if you duck in using cloistered, and if memory serves, OC even advances your turning progression!

There's just one little fly in the ointment. You lose two caster levels, one at first, and one at fourth. Fourth is where you gain rapid spontaneous casting for war domain spells. This means you'll be an 8th level caster at best by tenth. As a result, I'd advocate the master of shrouds which has the distinct advantage of being ridiculously awesome.

He'll lose two caster levels for the MoS builds, too.

Undeath and Planning get you Extra Turning and Extend Spell for free. I am also a big fan of Trickery, Time, Travel, Spell, and the Divine Magician alternative class feature from CMage.

Ordained Champion loses two caster levels, but it gains in actions. Number resource in D&D is not caster level but actions. Being able to at level 10 to throw around 3* 4th level spells a round makes an awesome buffing routine. In addition you still have an additional, 2,3, or 4 persistent spells always on you (depending on feat and item selections.)

Point well-made. On the other hand, MoS gets some pretty vicious summons.
How about a stripped down Ruby Shadow style build?

It won't be near as good, but it'll get up an' running faster than the normal RS build.

Callow
Warforged
1 DreadNecro
3 Archivist
1 Crusader
Get hit with Incarnate Construct, giving us the template of the same name and in turn a -2LA.
RkV7

Feats: Battle Blessing
This lets us go nova and cast a paladin spell from our archivist "list" per turn attempt. Since archivists have no list, and can cast from the list of any divine caster, these spells are still paladin spells. That's potentially ridiculous. On the other hand, any sane gm will kill you for trying to tell him this is a level 10 character. On the grasping hand.... All WotC books means all WotC books, and if you were to bring me a sufficiently spiffy backstory, well... I'd be down I guess.

I am not trying to argue that Master of Shrouds isn't awesome, it is...just different playing style some people prefer summoners some people prefering being their own invincible little army.

Don't worry, didn't think you were bashing it at all. I tend to assume the best of people, particularly where necromantic monstrosities are concerned. I mean, we've all been there, right? Rock bottom, just us and some skeletons and some black onyx?

If you're not going to go past level 10, I'd suggest against Ordained Champion. Its power comes from having all the spell slots to spare, but you won't be able to cast a 4th level spell every encounter as a 10th level ordained champion.

Definitely a good choice if you plan to go further, though.
