| #1elyseMar 20, 2008 22:03:36 | Hey guys, So I'm having a hard time deciding what feat to take at 12th level, here's my build and let me know if you have any suggestions ![]() Gnome 1 - Abjurer - Collegiate Wizard, [Scribe Scroll] 2 - Abjurer 3 - Abjurer - Spell Focus (Abjuration) 4 - Master Specialist - [Skill Focus (Spellcraft)] 5 - Master Specialist 6 - Master Specialist - Empower Spell, [Greater Spell Focus (Abjuration)] 7 - Master Specialist 8 - Master Specialist 9 - Master Specialist - Quicken Spell 10 - Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil 11 - Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil 12 - Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil - Suggestions?? In combat, if we are fighting another caster, I usually dispel them and then use spells like Firebrand on the minions. I also tend to buff a lot before combat (I try to cut down on this though because a lot of the other PCs are new and are really sad when they realized that the wizard in the back has DR and an AC in the 40s) Thanks guys! |

No, seriously, you might want to take Arcane Thesis at this point for a spell you like to Empower a lot, like the above mentioned Firebrand. Another thought is Split Ray, double your pleasure, double your pew pew lazerz. Flyby Attack lets you have almost unlimited mobility when you cast fly to get in and out while casting. Minor Shapeshift gives you a pool of temp hp = your CL that you can refresh as a swift action, just in case you never want to die....ever....again. hehehe, Ability Focus Veil should be legal. +2 to the DC on all your Veils? YES! Chain Spell, I'm not overly fond of, but a lot of people like it. Most good chainable spells are already printed in Mass or Chain versions. Any of these would be acceptable. Minor Shapeshift would probably affect you least offensively, but make you practically unkillable (overkill with I7V?) Its temps stack with False Life and Heart of Earth (and Hero's Feast, if you get it). Arcane Thesis is probably the strongest, as you can cast a Quickened Empowered spell from the same slot you could normally only cast a Quickened spell, so its basically free Empower, which pwns. |

| #4iliyanMar 21, 2008 7:00:58 | hmm, i'd second metamagic school focus, either that, or extend spell( best MM imo) lets not forget, you need 2x spell focus( xx) to enter archmage, so grabing one extra might proove fruitfull later |

| #6baronvonboxyMar 24, 2008 13:47:45 | take Split Ray at 12th and then Arcane Thesis (Antimagic Ray) at 15th, 2 will saves DC 19+Int Mod or lose all spellcasting abilities for the next 17 rounds, for an 8th level slot. I'm kind of a fan of that. |
| #7archerpwrMar 24, 2008 14:00:17 | I'm fond of elven spell lore (PH2) for +2 on dispel checks. |
| #8womblehunterMar 25, 2008 8:06:33 | take Split Ray at 12th and then Arcane Thesis (Antimagic Ray) at 15th, Shame about Ray Deflection, really. And the fact that many other metamagic feats are more use-able. |
