Oh, and this is absolutely essential, be sure to have a Decanter of Endless Water on hand. |
| #3cnandersenAug 31, 2009 9:10:19 | 17 lvl druid.. Sundruid. I like it. Beguiler 5/Rainbow Servant 10/Sacred Exorcist 2 is nice as well. Why the Beguiler ?? |
| #4danduAug 31, 2009 9:12:27 | It has a Celtic feel about it. |
| #5phaedrusxyAug 31, 2009 15:13:22 |
Because he can spontaneously cast anything on his spell list... and Rainbow Servant adds the entire cleric list to his spell list. |
| #6cnandersenAug 31, 2009 15:18:04 | How does this work ingame ? Does he scribe the spells from a scroll or ??? |
| #7phaedrusxyAug 31, 2009 15:20:32 |
No dude... he just knows them, and can cast them in any combination he wants till he runs out of spells. Like a sorcerer, except he knows his entire spell list as spells known.

ROFL... OMG... Wonder if my DM read/judge the rules the same way.. if so 10 lvl Rainbow Servant here I come |
| #9danduAug 31, 2009 16:54:24 | Also, text trumps table. |
| #10cnandersenSep 01, 2009 14:23:51 | If you ask med, then you can learn the cleric spells from scrolls. What is cold, but the "you gain and can cast all cleric spells by taking 10 lvl in this prestige class" is overpowered. Is there a WoTC view on this ??? If so could you tell me where I really like to read it. |

It is addressed in the FAQ (for Warmage, but that's the same case as for Beguiler): "If a warmage (CAr 10) gains access to all the cleric spells though the rainbow servant prestige class (CD 54), does he really have all those spells to choose from each time he casts a spell? If a warmage takes ten levels of rainbow servant, he adds all of the spells from the cleric spell list to his own spell list and can choose from all of them when he casts spells."

| #12danduSep 02, 2009 7:32:33 | The Sage rules against text trumps table, but he is not to be trusted. I think FAQ also rules against it, but FAQ is not dependable and has contradicted itself on several occasions, so... |
| #13cnandersenSep 02, 2009 13:16:03 | Wow that is unreal. But losing 4 caster lvl is a hard blow to suffer. Casting 7 lvl while everyone else is casting 9 lvl spells. |
| #14danduSep 02, 2009 23:19:18 | RAW gives it 10/10 spellcasting advancement. |
| #15Treantmonklvl20Sep 03, 2009 7:16:06 |
You have some strange definition of RAW I am unfamiliar with. To the best of my knowledge, the most recent printings of Complete Divine had no inconsistancy, 4 caster levels lost. Am I missing something? For OP: Focused Specialist Transmuter 5/Master Specialist 10/Archmage 2 |
| #16tytalusSep 03, 2009 9:01:53 |
He is referrring to "text trups table"; the description of the RS spellcasting ability mentions it progresses every level, no exceptions. |
| #17danduSep 03, 2009 12:41:39 | My CD shows 6/10 advancement per table, but 10/10 advancement per text. |
| #18Treantmonklvl20Sep 04, 2009 7:34:28 | I get it. I agree your interpretation of RAW is correct IMO. However, I doubt most DM's would ignore the FAQ because it suggests an exception to the text trumps table rule when there is a specific inconsistancy. Certainly anyone who's read commandment #6 would... |
| #19cnandersenSep 04, 2009 11:30:41 | Does the rainbow servant (CD 54) and sacred fist (CD 59) gain spellcasting levels for every level of the class or just levels shown on their table? Well that clears that up. link to faq is |
