Market price) But you can’t use any Eberron or Psionics stuff & he has to worship The sun god Lathander. He will be added to this group Bard/ 3 Swashbuckler/ 10 Dread pirate/ 2 Marshall and human. 3 cloistered cleric/ 3 church inquisitor/ 10 Radiant servant of Pelor/ 2 Radient Knight of Lathander (revised doom guide) and human 6 paladin/ 10 Fist of Raziel/1 knight of the Chalice and gold dwarf 8 wizard/ 1 fighter/5 runesmith/3 Archmage/1 abjurant Champion, and shield dwarf Give me your best shoot.
#2 dandu Aug 31, 2009 9:04:31	Druid 17 is pretty solid. Beguiler 5/Rainbow Servant 10/Sacred Exorcist 2 is nice as well. Just get items to boost your CL and turning attempts and you're good to go.   Oh, and this is absolutely essential, be sure to have a Decanter of Endless Water on hand.
#3 cnandersen Aug 31, 2009 9:10:19	17 lvl druid.. Sundruid. I like it. Beguiler 5/Rainbow Servant 10/Sacred Exorcist 2 is nice as well. Why the Beguiler ?? OMG Rainbow Servant can learn and cast spells from the cleric list, even if they don’t appear on the lists of any spellcasting class he has.. Can he scribe cleric scrolls and add them to his spelllist ???

No dude... he just knows them, and can cast them in any combination he wants till he runs out of spells. Like a sorcerer, except he knows his entire spell list as spells known. Normally this works just fine, as the beguiler has a fixed list of spells known. However, Rainbow Servant 10 adds the entire cleric list to this, which is of course overpowered as hell.

What is cold, but the "you gain and can cast all cleric spells by taking 10 lvl in this prestige class" is overpowered. Is there a WoTC view on this ??? It is addressed in the FAQ (for Warmage, but that's the same case as for Beguiler): "If a warmage (CAr 10) gains access to all the cleric spells though the rainbow servant prestige class (CD 54), does he really have all those spells to choose from each time he casts a spell? If a warmage takes ten levels of rainbow servant, he adds all of the spells from the cleric spell list to his own spell list and can choose from all of them when he casts spells." Also, it is not all that broken if you go by the table (i.e., reduced spellcasting progression).
#12 dandu Sep 02, 2009 7:32:33	The Sage rules against text trumps table, but he is not to be trusted. I think FAQ also rules against it, but FAQ is not dependable and has contradicted itself on several occasions, so...
#13 cnandersen Sep 02, 2009 13:16:03	Wow that is unreal. But losing 4 caster lvl is a hard blow to suffer. Casting 7 lvl while everyone else is casting 9 lvl spells.

Am I missing something? He is referrring to "text trups table"; the description of the RS spellcasting ability mentions it progresses every level, no exceptions.

However, I doubt most DM's would ignore the FAQ because it suggests an exception to the text trumps table rule when there is a specific inconsistancy. In the Sage’s opinion, these classes gain spellcasting as their tables indicate. Normally, if there is a difference between what a table says and what the ability indicates in its written explanation, we suggest you use the written rules.
