************NOTE: we're using 3.0. DM's stuck in the past...*************

what other class? i really want to be a fast powerful SNEAKY ball of fury.

i thought i had it worked out. a few of you helped me even to create a sweet character, but as i STILL havent leveled up yet, (DM only lets us level up when we get to towns - which takes forever. im going to go from level 1-3 or maybe even 4), i am thinking about all my options, and what would be the coolest thing out there.

Albino Drow Rogue. Kaotic Good.
Dyed black hair. Swathed all in black.
5'4, 111lbs. current ac is 17.

Str: 13 +1
Dex: 20 +5
Con: 13 +1
Int: 16 +3
Wis: 11
Cha: 12 +1

a two-weapon fighting sword martial arts kinda PC with abnormal powers. i was thinking:

the type of character i am shooting for is kindof a blend between kate becksale's "Selene" from underworld, and Milla Jovavich's resident evil character, with a HUGE splash of the assassin from Daiblo 2 i want to switch to punching weapons. good ol' Bartuc's Claws....

Rogue 3/barbarian 1/Monk 10+? or something else.... barbarian? fighter for extra feats? druid for change shape? wizard for spells? i like barbarian because of the d12 hit die. This is the part i want help with.

~Rogue 3: sneak attack 2d6, evasion, and uncanny dodge.
~Monk 10: at level 10 the monk gets ki strike and three unarmed attacks at 1d10. plus slow fall (selene!) and all those other badd@ss monk feats.

once you switch outa monk you cannot go back to it, so i want to figure out the max level of monk i should take.

i repeat my main problem? what other class? i really want to be a fast powerful SNEAKY ball of fury.
barbarian would really help that.

1. Rogue - Drow Skirmisher, Craven, Point Blank Shot, 2x Flaws
2. Rogue
3. Swashbuckler - B: Weapon Finesse, Weapon Focus Dagger
4. Swashbuckler
5. Swashbuckler
6. Cobra Strike Variant (UA) Monk - B: Dodge , Carmendine Monk (or Kung-Fu Genius)
7. Cobra Strike Variant (UA) Monk - B : Mobility
8. Warblade
9. Warblade - Far Shot
10. Invisible Blade
11. Invisible Blade
12. Invisible Blade - Two Weapon Fighting
13. Invisible Blade
14. Invisible Blade
15. Warblade - Improved TWF
16. Bloodclaw Master
17. Bloodclaw Master
18. Bloodclaw Master - Greater TWF
19. Bloodclaw Master
20. Bloodclaw Master

Drow Skirmisher gives you proficiency with Drow Long Knives which are like short swords that can be thrown and count as daggers (or short swords for feats and abilities)

Now, if you can talk your DM into this here is the link to the author/creator of the Invisible Blade with the more friendly pre-reqs and expansion of the class Invisible Blade. My build using the author intent would go something like this.

1. Rogue - Drow Skirmisher, Point Blank Shot, Weapon Focus Dagger
2. Sleeping Tiger Variant Monk - B: Weapon Finesse
3. Sleeping Tiger Variant Monk - B: Improved Initiative, Carmendine Monk
4. Warblade
5. Warblade
6. Invisible Blade - Two Weapon Fighting
7. Invisible Blade
8. Invisible Blade
9. Invisible Blade - Craven
10. Invisible Blade
11. Invisible Blade
12. Invisible Blade - Improved Two Weapon Fighting
13. Invisible Blade
14. Invisible Blade
15. Invisible Blade - Greater Two Weapon Fighting
16. Bloodclaw Master
17. Bloodclaw Master
18. Bloodclaw Master - Reaping Talons
19. Bloodclaw Master
20. Bloodclaw Master

Ah, I see know. Look into the Duelist (SaF) and Fang of Lloth (SaS) prestige classes then for some inspiration.

dont get me wrong, i appreciate your help big time!

im looking at this as a potential progression.

(1)Rogue 1:
sneak attack 1d6, weapon finesse scimitar

(2)Rogue 1/Barb 1:
Rage 1/day, fast movement

(3)Rogue 2/Barb 1:
Evasion, Quick draw

(4)Rogue 3/Barb 1: +1 to CON bringing it to 14 (+2)
Uncanny dodge (dex bonus to AC), Sneak attack 2D6

(5)Rogue 3/Barb 1/Monk 1:
Unarmed strike, stunning attack, evasion. 1d6 unarmed damage

(6)Rogue 3/Barb 1/Monk 2:
Deflect arrows, weapon finesse: punching weapon (claws)

after this point, i was thinking monk progression for a long time
(7)~still mind
(8)~slow fall 20 ft; +1 STR, up to 14, (+2)
(9)~purity of body, FEAT
(10)~slow fall 30 ft
improved trip
(11)~wholeness of body
Leap of the clouds
(12)~Slow fall 50 ft, Feat
(13)~improved evasion
(14)~ki stike +1
(15)~diamond body, FEAT
(16)~Abundant step
(17)~Diamond Soul, Ki strike +2
(18)~ 4 attacks, FEAT
(19)~Quivering palm
(20)~Ki strike +3

or something. maybe switch off monk when i get 1D12 unarmed damage. (17)
im not sure...

That's an awesome find with the Resident Evil and Underworld girls, I never even made the connection but they are certainly a lot like the D2 Assassin!

Drow were _supposed_ to be creepy and icky...
*sigh*, at least a zillion drizzt-clones of decades past have indeed brought the loathing upon the Drow they were supposed to have. That, and the +2 LA thing.

Rogue/Barb is not bad at all, although you get alignment issues.

I would be tempted to suggest Ranger as another class... Also, 3.0 Bards have in fact, a better spell list and get OMFGROFLOL broken 3.0 Haste... Hm.

If you go monk, take care of your monk BaB.
That one is awkward, but can net a few more attacks.

Good classes are 3.0 drunken master, shou disciple, and this shiny guy: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20020927b

Unarmed BaB caps at 5 attacks, or +13/10/7/4/1, so the diamond warrior + shou disciple can get the cap.

Easy build:
Psi-War 7, Diamond warrior 10, Shou disciple 3

Unarmed BaB: 13/10/7/4/1
Normal Bab: 15/10/5

Manifest powers as a 14 th level psi-war (5th level),
Evasion,
Flurry,
SR 10+ char level (30 at lvl 20),
a few mobility feats for free (4 times speed of thought - plus req, thats + 50 ft).

The fluff text says that a few psions are members, if you would be allowed that route a few variations:
Psion 6, Monk 4, Diamond Warrior 10 has an unarmed BaB of +13 as well.
Casts like a 13th level psion.
If you can make Shou disciple skill entries by adding class skills (cosmopolitan 3.0),

Then:
The (martial) build I would play is,
Psion 6, Shou disciple 4, Diamond warrior 10.
Keeps flurry (light).

In case you don't like them,
You don't need to wear any mask^^

Checking over psionics again,
I really forgot how great the soulknife was in 3.0.
