IIRC the warbeast template (MM 2 of MM 3, can't remember) explicitly states the DC for that. I'd say that the warbeast template puts an (extra) -1 or possibly -2 modifier to your effective druid level for determining the companion bonusses. |

I have allowed this in my games, but added a -3 penalty to effective druid level (just like the animals on the advanced list). of course, this is all houserule territory -- just like anything other than a simple, ordinary, average animal. feel free to try to house rule whatever you want -- variation is good. |
