| #1Fel2941May 28, 2015 3:53:04 | Hello all! Trying to optimize my cleric build for a new campaign starting Sunday.
Level 2 Human Cleric DM ruled +1 extra feat allowed, so as human i get 3 feats at lv 1 Neutral Alignment we rolled stats and i got 15+ in all with 18 in wis
I think my main issue is what Domains & Feats to get? Other than Persistent Spell and Divine Metamagic i'm not sure. I found a build online using Sun + Planning Domain but i don't see how this is feasible as Pelor cannot use the planning domain. Anybody able to give some tips? |

The usual persisto-cleric follows Wee Jas (Undeath gives bonus turn attempts). ....and they need nothing else. You can make a completely viable cleric with nothing but Extra Turning after this point. (Also, I am highly skeptical you rolled those stats under a standard system. With them, you can be asleep and still steamroll dungeons.) |

My understanding is clerics can be 1 alignment removed from their god, so you could go neutral for a neutral good god(pelor). It didnt state why pelor was needed, just was using Pelor Sun/Planning for domains. Planning for the free extend feat i imagine.
I don't plan to completely spam persistent meta, which is why i won't be picking up tons of extra turning feats. |

The reason you see it is because it give the character Extend Spell which is the prereq for Persistent Spell which is what would be taken with the first level feat; after that you would take DMM Persistent Spell with the human bonus feat. When the DM is #### crazy and already giving you an extra feat you don't need Planning to get the extra feat to start the DMM Persistent Spell madness at 1st level.
Just using DMM Persistent a couple times can be game changing. You don't even need to take Extra Turning to get more turn attempts when there is a magic item that can do that. Besides it sounds likel you probably have a CHA score that is high enough it already provides some of the 'extra' turn attempts you may need to use.
