#1 esyt Nov 17, 2008 0:41:12	im trying to convince my group power gameing isnt the evil they think it is so i need to power game (in moderation) im unsure what to roll (prolly druid or cleric will be recomended ) and my goals are to make a character that doesnt break the game rules are core books only i wanna do multi classing and all that fun stuff but i dont wanna do something to crazy and put a bad taste in their mouth id prefer spell casting i start as something with 5 levels(you can multi class that)

#3 bruceleeroy Nov 17, 2008 1:41:13	In core, power gaming = druid. Slightly less optimized power gaming means Wizard or cleric. Even less optimized is sorcerer. After that, everything else. As far as prestige classes and optimization, well.. Archmage, Loremaster and Thaumaturge are full casting, so none are technically bad choices. Anything else is just playing for fun, not power.

#5 bruceleeroy Nov 17, 2008 18:25:52	Play a cleric with 1 level of monk. No, it's not optimized, but it's multiclassing that can still hurt people bad. Take stunning fist at level one monk, take improved grapple as your level 3 feat. Then use righteous might and divine power to grapple the crap outta people. Needless to say, Wis is your main stat, followed by dex then str. better yet, abandon the core only restriction and utilize options for multiclassing non-casters into something useful. Like Tome of Battle and Magic Item Compendium.

#7 feloniousela Nov 17, 2008 19:02:54	Just remember that if you play even a "slightly optimized" Druid in core setting with a bunch of non-optimizers you are likely to steal the show, especially already starting at level 5.
