Just started a new 3.5 campain with some buddies and was looking for a way that would work like penetrating shot/Cleave for thrown weapons.  Using a Dwarven Fighter and just thought it would be funny to throw say a giant hammer down a line of enemies.

The quick answer to your question is that such abilities, as a feat/class ability, only show up in three places: the Bloodstorm Blade (Tome of Battle; there's also a high-level Iron Heart maneuver that does this, so the warblade can do what you want too), the Master Thrower (Complete Warrior), and the War Hulk (Miniatures Handbook) (as well as a related ability on the Hulking Hurler and a weapon-specific version in the Boomerang Ricochet feat). Of these, the Bloodstorm Blade is by far the best, and the only one that really fits your theme.

Alternatively, you can use magic to accomplish this - the Whirling Blade spell (Spell Compendium) is amazing and quite cheap (it's a 2nd level spell), assuming you're using a slashing weapon. I use it quite often.

Hell, the art for the Bloodstorm Blade and for Whirling Blade even depict dwarves armed with axes, so there's that.

The atl atl (a ranged weapon from Sandstorm) is described as "a cross between a thrown weapon and a projectile weapon.", but I've yet to find a really good use for it, and it's just one particular weapon.  On the upside, it can be used with things like Brutal Throw and Penetrating Shot, but on the downside, the base damage is crappy, and there aren't actually many things where the projectile/thrown combination is a benefit, since things aren't usually designed with a single weapon oddity in mind.

It's kind of the "I don't really want to invest anything in this" option, being cheap, nonmagical, and only requiring proficiency with martial weapons.
