[3.5] Power Attacking on Turns but not on AoOs

Oct 07, 2008 23:49:35 I've got a warblade crowd controller (Thicket of Blades + Stand Still) who does damage mostly through Power Attack in combination with various maneuvers (primarily Emerald Razor for now), and was wondering if there was any way to Power Attack during my turn, but not on AoOs so I might have a chance of actually hitting with Stand Still. Anyone have any ideas?

Alternately, is there a better crowd control feat? Large and In Charge (from Draconomicon) is an option (I've got the Expansion power, and can augment it to become Huge), but it seems a worse way to go with the Strength scores and sizes most monsters have at higher levels, as well as that it also suffers from the penalty to attack.

Oct 08, 2008 0:22:04 Planning on picking that up when/if I can (since the build is so feat intensive, and we only get one flaw in this game) as well as those Bracers of Opportunity in MIC. Anything else come to mind?

Oct 08, 2008 13:00:13 Power attack less is all I can really suggest. Lockdown has damage issues in both my versions.

Oct 08, 2008 16:06:25 try charging .... and using the Feat: Shock Trooper

one of the options for Shock Trooper.. is Heedless Charge... take a Penalty to AC instead of Attack when you use PA on a Charge... it lowers your AC, but with Robilars Gambit.... you will hit Back harder anyway

everything will be at Full BAB

Oct 08, 2008 16:10:15 And because you're a warblade, hopefully you have Sudden Leap. Jump backwards, then charge forwards. Or grab Travel Devotion, but you already said you were low on feats.

Oct 08, 2008 17:00:38 Good idea in theory... unfortunately, planning on going mainly off of maneuvers for damage. (Emerald Razor now, soon Ruby Nightmare Blade, and later on Avalanche of Blades + Combat Rhythm followed by Time Stands Still + Raging Mongoose.) Any other ideas?
