| #1fargoth5Aug 17, 2009 12:51:30 | I need to make a 30th level gestalt character for 3.5, and it needs to be at least partially a divine caster who gets its powers from a deity (Cleric, Favored Soul, etc.). From my DM:

This is a rough, I'll check over the feats later. Flaws will help a lot. |
| #3fargoth5Aug 17, 2009 14:05:04 | Wow... character optimization scares me. |
| #4wildfire393Aug 17, 2009 14:37:30 | That build does not want throwing as Ranged Touch, as that removes the ability to add Strength to your throws. Unless you have a way to add Dex instead (I think there's a fighter substitution that lets you add Dex to damage on ranged attacks) which might be useful for reducing MAD. What I would recommend is something like Cleric 30 (or Cleric 20 some divine PrC 10, I don't know divine casters that well) on one side and a bunch of classes/PrCs that add Wisdom to things on the other side. Examples: Swordsage/Monk/Ninja AC, Psychic Warrior Psionics, etc. That way you can ubermax out your Wisdom for both your casting and a ton of other things. Once you hit Epic Levels, put every feat you can into Great Wisdom to bump your Wisdom up more. Suggested race is Tortle - From a Dragon Mag, but gets +2 Con and +2 Wis, -2 Dex and Cha, Favored Cleric Class (if that matters), a Swim Speed, and +3 Nat Armor at no LA. If your DM won't allow that, stick to standard Whisper Gnome/Strongheart Halfling/Water Halfling cheese. Given a Tortle and an 18 base starting Wis, your end Wis will be: 18 + 2 (racial) + 5 (ability gain per 4 levels to 20) + 2 (ability gain per 4 levels to 30) + 5 (inherent) + 6 (enhancement) + 4 (Great Wisdom at 21, 24, 27, 30) = 42, which gives you a +16 to divine save DCs and a ton of bonus spells (+4 up to 4th level, +3 up to 8th, +2 level 9) |

Unless you have a way to add Dex instead Note that it only says strength. Power Attack is not a strength bonus and compared to what we're doing with Power Attack Strength is at best an after thought for fulfilling perquisites. |
| #6mining_monkAug 17, 2009 16:30:46 | As there are no restriction: 3 wizard/3 archivist 10 mystic theurge/(5 druid/5 sorceror) 10 Arcane Heirophant/1 bard, 2 rogue/ 7 fochulan lyricist (archivist/wizard) 7 Ultimate Magus / 3 fochulan lyricist (archivist/sorceror) Gets 27 wizard/archivist CL, 15 druid CL, 22 sorceror CL. Gets BAB (fractional) of 17. Try to find a way to burn all those low caster level slots up, I read something on another thread about fuelling MM with them, but I can't remember how. |
| #7wings_of_peaceAug 17, 2009 16:44:33 | As there are no restriction: The only thing I can see with this build is that it could potentially be seen as shaky ground since the Gestalt rules advice against Theurge type classes. |
| #8dougchAug 17, 2009 22:55:03 | and the dm silly enough said F that master somethign crom complete somethign lets you hock spells of the arcnae side to freely up spells on the other master magus or soemthing |

After just skimming for 30 seconds, the epic metamagic. I demand that you grab Lasting Spell and make Greater Consumptive Field (SpC) permanent. That's just silliness incarnate. If you're evil. You can spend some time punching babies and become a god. If you're DM is sane, he'll limit you to from taking that, but they already sound off to me, so I'd give it a try. Also, be sure to take a few ranks in UMD. With that many levels you'll be able to spare it, and being able to get the best spells from the arcane side will be invaluable, when you have to get them. |
| #10daniel678Aug 18, 2009 0:26:01 | If your DM allows it I would highly suggest an Illithid Savant. by 30th level it will offer everything that you could want and more. Since it is a gestalt game you can even take the 15 levels in Mind Flayer instead of being a half-illithid. |
| #11mining_monkAug 18, 2009 4:04:01 | One ridiculously overpowered build (with a not sane DM) is the old Legacy Champion HFlock abuse. On one side of the tree: 8 warlock, 3 HFlock, 8/10 Legacy Champion (levels boosting HFlock progression), 2/3 Uncanny trickster (HFlock progression) followed by 9levels of eldritch theurge. On the other side: cleric up to 18 levels, fitting in the "spare" levels of LC and UT / (Any good pounce build. The better, the better. No weapon enhancement, your using Eldritch Glaive. Initiator levels fully welcome) Up to 27 effective cleric levels, same with Warlock. Theoretically over 200d6 damage per round as a touch attack, + any and all PA and cleric buffs you can jam in. EB damage is something like 15?d6 + 26d6 hellfire, all usable 5 times per round (haste + EGlaive + Divine Power), with a HUGE damage modifier (Shock Trooper etc.) Get as much AC is you (non)humanly can, to sacrifice as much of it as you (non)humanly can. |
