5400 attacks in a SINGLE full attack action

Over in TO I started a thread with the goal to generate the most individual attacks in a single full attack action. No manuevers, no multi-pouncing, no extra actions, no clone or cohort attacks. Just one character making as many attacks as I can squeeze into one single full attack.

We had originally capped out at ~550, but a recent break through took us up to 5400.

I, however, fail epically, and cannot figure out how to edit the thread's title in the forum list, and it's still listed as a measly 400 attacks.

So, to generate interest, traffic, get other people to double check my work, and most importantly, continue the trend of bringing to light reasons why killing hundreds of kobolds before they're allowed to level up is imperative, here's a link:

Ah... Good to know.

I don't feel like such a failure now.

If you click the edit button,
then click the "go advanced" edit button,
I think you can do it ... maybe.

I've editted my VOTE thread title a few times.

Hmm... but you could theoretically have infinite.

Swashbuckler 1/Warblade 2/Lion Totem Barbarian 1/Fighter 8/Disciple of Dispater 8 with Roundabout Kick, Lightning Mace, Improved Critical, and a few other feats, using Blood in the Water.

Use a pair of Aptitude Kukris (which means that for feats such as Roundabout Kick and Lightning Mace that apply to only one weapon, those feats also apply to the Kukris).

You critical on a 9-20. Every critical threat generates a new attack, and every confirmed critical generates a new attack. Once Blood in the Water charges up (perhaps using a bag of rats) you can make sure you hit on a 2 against your target.

So each attack has an 55% chance to generate an extra attack with Lightning Mace, and a 52.25% chance to generate an extra attack with Roundabout Kick. In the end, you get that each attack has a 45% chance to not generate an extra attack, a 52.25% chance to generate two extra attacks, and a 2.75% chance to generate one extra attack. On average, each attack will generate 1.0725 new attacks, resulting in ever exploding numbers of attacks.

So yeah, it just keeps going. Unless using Blood in the Water isn't kosher? It's not a strike manuever, but it is a stance. But even still, with a high enough attack bonus against a low AC opponent this works even without Blood in the Water.

Hmmm, though I think the probability of getting infinite attacks that way is less than 100%. Sometimes you'd get a few bad rolls and it'd end early, other times it'd just take off until the monster dies. And you still need to be able to hit on a 9-20.

Blood in the Water takes care of the needing to hit issue. Just charge it up on some rats and you can quickly get a high enough to hit score.

Furthermore, you'd have a base, at level 20, of 8 attacks (4 regular, 1 Whirling Frenzy, 3 from two weapon fighting). Each one of those could potencially explode into infinite attacks. I'm not sure the exact odds of getting more than 5400 attacks in a single attack action, but it's quite possible to do, since the odds are in your favor of getting more and more attacks. Once it gets going, it would take a lot more than a few bad rolls to stop the chain.

How do you maintain the 25 dex requirement to keep the feat for perfect two-weapon fighting when you switch minds from the kobold to the marilith? I'm pretty sure that you don't keep your str/dex/con when you do a true mind switch.

Already been over that, didn't work.

Well first, if that's like the Aptitude class feature from the Warblade, it only works for feats with which you select a particular weapon, not for feats that designate a weapon they belong to.

Secondly, it does use maneuvers, even if they're stances. Third, even with the odds in your favor, it's never a guaranteed number of attacks. This is why I avoided maneuvers like Avalanche of Blades in the first place. They grant attacks based on other attacks with stipulations, instead of the character simply having that many attacks.

19 base for Marilith (even with the advancement to Huge), +6 gloves, +2 for Half Troll = 27

It's not. See ToB's magic items section for details. It just lets you apply any feat that applies to a single weapon to the magic weapon in question. The Warblade ability does not work, but the Aptitude enhancement does.

Secondly, it does use maneuvers, even if they're stances.

Then ignore the Blood in the Water, and just make it against a low AC creature.

It still will generate, on average, rediculous numbers of attacks. I'd have to use a computer program to simulate it, as this is the sort of scenario where standard methods of prediction break down (using standard statistics, you'd calculate it as resulting in an average of infinite attacks, but this is incorrect). IIRC, if each attack had a 50% chance to generate two extra attacks and a 50% chance to generate no extra attacks, you'd get about 11 extra attacks per initial attack. However, because the odds are slightly better than that, you're likely to get a massively higher number.

'has feats that affect the use of a particular weapon, such as Weapon Focus, Greater Weapon Focus, Weapon Specialization, or the like,"

Once more, all feats that allow the selection of a particular weapon, not feats that designate one.

Then ignore the Blood in the Water, and just make it against a low AC creature.

IIIRC, if each attack had a 50% chance to generate two extra attacks and a 50% chance to generate no extra attacks, you'd get about 11 extra attacks per initial attack.

So 88? Even if you generated 111 extra attacks per initial, your presented build would only generate 888, and always have the potential of only generating 8.

But again, those aren't attacks you can count on round after round. Those aren't attacks you assume in your attack progression. So while such an idea will occasionally cause more attacks per round (especially if you actually optimized for arms and offhands and all the other trickery), it's no more my goal in this exercise than simply buffing strength until I can carry 80 million braid blades.

I just read the first post, someone may have mentioned those already:

Form of Doom (PsiWar power, 6th) : adds 4 tentacle attacks
Deepspawn (Feat, LoM): adds 2 tentacle attacks

Deepspawn has been ruled out, since we don't meet the prereqs to take it after becoming a marilith, and the tentacles on the body would be lost when mind switching.

Form of Doom won't work because it can only take effect when you mind is in your own body.

How to have an sub-infinite attacks per round.

1. Draw your sword and shield.
2. Kneel, and hold your shield in front of you.
3. Thrust your sword forward and read something in front of you in midswing.
4. Enjoy.
