5rog/2fighter needs some advice

We're on an ongoing campaign and my character is a human rogue lvl 5 and fighter lvl 2 (but haven't taken anything for the 2nd lvl so i can still choose a new feat).

I was going for the shadowlord PRC which required me 4 feats which i already took:
dodge, mobility, spring attack, blind fight. Also i have two wep fighting.

Anyway since i just found my DM put a HUGE restriction on shadowpounce (which is the main source of bulk damage the shadowlord does) i have now seconds thoughts on taking the shadowlord prc :S

The restriction is: Shadowpounce says that you can use a full attack after any kind of teleportation effect, that does NOT mean however that shadowpounce doesn't count for your allowed actions per turn. SO after using shadowpounce its the END of your round (you have executed a full attack regardless if its through shadowpounce or not -> round OVER). No swift action teleports like shadowblink or quickened dimensional doors paired with standard action teleports for multiple pouncing is allowed from what it seems, and that cripples me haaard.

So i may not take the shadowlord prc and i'm looking for alternatives. As things are i cannot change my classes neither my feats so i'll have to go with that and this is why i'm looking for suitable alternatives. I have thought of the shadowdancer but with its ridiulus attack bonus ill be really falling behind so i don't know if its a good candidate. Not much else has crossed my mind so i'm looking for some suggestions here and there. Doesn't really have to be min/maxed but a small overview wouldn't hurt.

NOTE: Tome of battle is obviously not allowed cause DM believes its too overpowered so don't mention it please ;D.

Feb 28, 2011 20:23:10 You could try qualifying for Dragonslayer from Draconomicon. You need Dodge, Iron Will, BAB+5, and tumble 2 ranks, but you get d10 HD, full BAB, resistance 10 to all non-Force energies, damage reduction of the /- sort, a host of other goodies for a 10 Lv. PrC. It even adds to your caster level (if you have a casting class (arcane or divine)) at every odd numbered level; grabing Warmage 3 gets you Blade of Force via Advanced Learning (from Spell Compendium), a spell that allows you to flank someone (more sneak attack opportunities anyone?). All in all, it's a good class to take if you favor smacking someone around.

Shadowsmith from Tome of Magic might be cool too, assuming you meet the Special requirements.

Edit: taking Improved Toughness might not be a bad idea either, as it nets you 1 HP/HD.

Feb 28, 2011 20:44:47 Shadowsmith seems interesting. I can probably meet the requirements but i'm not really convinced if his abilities can cut it in the later levels :S

So your DM just basically took away half of the reason to play a shadowlord? Why in the world would he do that? After all it's not like the prestige class is broken, because of the fact that it requires a decent amount of feats. If I remember right the SA bonus damage is scattered farther apart as well. You should try and help him understand the mechanics of how certain spells work with your Prestige class. If you cannot change his mind then make a daggerspell mage with touch attacks such as vampiric touch. If you want to stick with your current build you should be asking for retraining on feats, afterall it isn't fair of him to nerf your prestige class and not allow you to go towards something else. I can't quite remember but there is a feat in the complete scoundral that works with your class build that you have. You should review the CS to see what you might like.

Mar 01, 2011 9:21:09 Yeah to honest i've been rethinking the shadowlord build after he cut half of that stuff. I'm prepared to let go of the swordsage shadow jaunt/blink/stride but i think i'll stop there and claim my quickened dimensional door/other means of fast teleport for multipouncing...

If not i might aswell change paths, too bad for him cause the campaign till now has been in a shadowlord-run town in order for me to get accustomed with them.
