| #1orgplayMar 10, 2009 21:09:44 | making a 5th level guy for monte's dungeonaday.com any wotc, malhavoc, or WoW book allowed. i'd like to be undead and command/animate undead. coolest i could put together myself was this: huecuva template (LA +0) someone verify this LA, please. Becomes an Undead. Always Evil. Natural Armor bonus improves by +4. Turn Resistance +2 Str +2 Con — Int –6 Wis +2 Cha +2 CR +2 Gains a 1d6 Slam Attack (if Medium). SA All natural attacks expose the target to the disease Huecuva Blight (incubation 1 day, 1d2 Strength & 1d2 Constitution). SQ Gain Feat: Toughness. Damage Reduction 10 / silver. Divine Conversion: Cleric – Huecuva that have levels of Cleric replace their prior domains Death & Evil and always Rebuke / Command Undead. 1 human Corpsecrafter 1 cleric Destruction Retribution 2 cleric 3 cleric ????? 4 cleric 5 cleric 9k gold. |
| #2pithicaMar 11, 2009 7:14:29 | I am almost positive that Heceuva is LA: -- and not LA: +0, which means that most DM's won't let you play it, and I'm almost positive they aren't allowed in any 'official' games/competitions. The fiend folio was written using the 3.5 system (except for Damage Reduction) and monsters/templates that are playable all have listed LA's. If you don't see one (as is the case with this template), I am almost positive its default is -- and not +0. |

Ask if the dm lets you use it when a dread necromancer converted you near a desecrated shrine. You'd get all the nice undead immunities, +2 resilience to turn and rebuke and with the dread necro thingy +4 str, +4dex and your hp becomes 1d12+4 per lvl |

| #5phaedrusxyMar 11, 2009 10:57:03 | That's about when an early entry Master of Shrouds starts taking off. You could have an army of Shadow spawn. :D |
| #6jameswilliamogleMar 11, 2009 11:11:43 | Mini-guide on some 3rd party material: http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=3459.0 There's a lot of base classes in 3rd party material for this too, but unfortunately I never looked into them all that much. Dread Necromancer is a fun base class to do this sort of thing with. |
| #7post_ironicMar 11, 2009 11:34:45 | I'll second PhaedrusXY's suggestion for a Master of Shrouds. Mine hit 13th level recently, and has consistently contributed to the party and kicked butt in combat. He has then taken those butts and turned them into undead slaves.![]() |
| #8orgplayMar 11, 2009 12:07:19 | i looked at the dread necromancer quite extensively. i don't lose much in the way of spells for taking necropolitan. is tough-skinned the best DR booster? i give up Animate Dead though. kinda crappy. being undead is just way hot. |

| #11phaedrusxyMar 11, 2009 16:18:16 | How aboug using a Spiked Gauntlet and taking Weapon Finesse, if the DM will let you deliver Charnel Touch at the same time? Edit: Isn't Divine Vigor the one that lets you heal using Rebuke/Turn attempts? Why do you need that when you can just touch yourself for downtime healing? |
| #12orgplayMar 12, 2009 8:02:01 | How aboug using a Spiked Gauntlet and taking Weapon Finesse, if the DM will let you deliver Charnel Touch at the same time? interesting, i'll consider that spiked gauntlet. what feat would i give up? divine vigor is temp hit points, +10', and lasts minutes. seem worth it. |
