7th- 9th level Divine Magician choices for a spontaneous variant TN NecroCleric

Dec 09, 2008 22:11:59 I am soliciting advice from the peanut gallery on what to pick for my 7th through 9th Divine Magician choices.My choices from previous levels are as follows: Truestrike
Command Undead
Vampiric touch(this is very meh at this point, I might switch it out)
Lesser Spirit Binding(Its a variant allowed by the DM.Incorporeal undead only.Devastatingly useful)
Magic Jar(Ive been too chicken **** to use it,but Ive crafted a Rune of Create Undead onto a body piercing, for Bone creature goodness so ...
Kyristan's Malevolent Tentacles(black tentacles plus negative levels...)

I avoid enslaving intelligent creatures, so I skipped Animate Dread Warrior.
I was considering Arrow of Bone, so I could stack it with my spell storing bow, and Smiting Spell, or give it to the ranger after I inscribed truestrike on the fletching.

Nothing seems to really jump out at me, so any help would be appreciated.

7th lvl:
Antimagic Ray (SC)
Ironguard (SC, immunity to all metal...)
Kiss of the Vampire (SC)
Spell Turning

8th lvl:
Mind Blank
Prismatic Wall
Clone
Horrid Wilting
Moment of Prescience

9th lvl:
Mage’s Disjunction
Prismatic Sphere
Foresight
Maw of Chaos (SC)

evasculate (great wit power words)

lvl9
efulgent apuration (SC) (great for protection against targeted spells)

Here are some of the ones I was considering when looking at this for a TN cleric:

7th lvl:

Antimagic Ray (SC) I like this,seems like good offense at higher levels...
The others are buffs and I rarely have time for those in combat...
8th lvl:
Mind Blank:I got 6 Ghostly Visages, so I might not need this
Prismatic Wall :hmm, good offense/defense
Clone:Um yeah, Necromatic goodness.Appeals to survival instinct.Better as a SLA?
Horrid Wilting:I couldnt find any limit to how many targets this has, not under the SRD listing.This could be an awesome hellbomb of a spell.
Moment of Prescience:Isnt there a 5th level cleric spell that guarantees a true 20? Gotta check into that.

9th lvl:
Mage’s Disjunction:seems wasteful and risky.It can counter antimagic fields...
Prismatic Sphere:same as the wall above,more or less.
Foresight:This is not even in the running.
Maw of Chaos :lots of uncapped damage,easily avoided by moving-no good for me.(SC)

evasculate (great wit power words):not to shabby.Screwed if you save or if you dont.
efulgent apuration :smells good, but is it better than an antimagic field plus Extraordinary Spell Aim?It is transferable.

Great suggestions, you've given me something to think about.
