#1 blightersbane Jul 05, 2009 14:17:32	I had a question about the Radiant Servant PrC with a gestalt build. I am playing a Gnome and went wizard / Cleric to Mystic Thuerge / ranger, with domians in Travel and Healing. I am the party healer and buffer (go figure) so I was thinking of going with the Radiant Servant for the healing buffs, but read that it was under powered and to stick with striaght Cleric...? Also I would have to be 6th level to qualify? Does the empower and adventual max spell only count for the healing domain spells of which I could have 1 per level? or any healing spell I default to as a good cleric that is also listed in the healing domain? BB
#2 Wyvernhand Jul 05, 2009 16:38:25	First of all...check with your DM. Most of the time, duel advancement PrCs like Mystic Theuge are not allowed in gestalt. Its highly suggested in the rules. The reasoning is that you are already a combination of 2 concepts, you shouldn't be able to combine any more. 2nd, Radiant Servant is not bad. What is bad is people who focus on healing in combat. Healing in combat is generally a waste of an action, since, as a full caster, you should have more important things to do than heal. Like...disabling opponents. Granted, there are times when a bit of healing is appropriate, so don't rule it out, but in most cases, its best to just wax the baddy and heal with things like wands or Healing Belts (MIC) out of combat. That said, the only 2 drawbacks to Radiant Servant are that you need the Sun domain, which isn't that bad, and that its a d6 HD instead of a d8, which, isn't really that bad. About 1 hp per level average less. I personally think that the class is exactly 5 levels long. The first 5 levels are packed with all kinds of goodies, including the bonus domain at level 5. The last 5 levels are terribly lackluster until 10, and 6 is actually a NERF to the class. Thus, if I were to build a cleric, I'd take Cleric to 6, RSoP to 5 (ECL11) and then take Sacred Exorcist, Divine Oracle, or Contemplative the rest of the way. And I probably wouldn't even take the Healing domain. I would take Sun and Good, since Good is better than Healing. You lose out on the free Empowered Healing, but that only applies to about 4-5 spells per day anyway, unless you cheat. So yea...more details would be helpful...
