I was thinking about a giant spider (or other exoscheletal creature) skeleton turned in a cradle: when endangered, it will simply close the "roof", giving the child a 100% protection. I'm not satisfied of this, since it will be easy to simply destroy the spider (a simple turn undead will do), leaving the baby once again helpless... can you give me any idea? thanks |

Polymorph it into a troll or something else with regeneration? :P Perhaps a construct of some kind rather than an undead spider. A cradle golem. |

Anyone who is LE, NE, or LN can use it as such with no problems. 2) Build a tower inside of it. 3) Take Leadership. Have your followers live inside of it and protect the baby. 4) You'll need a way to leave the pit open a little bit (so they have fresh air), so I'd suggest getting a flying carpet or some other easily transportable flat surface to lay it on. Even a wagon could work, but it could be problematic to get that around. A big undead with a flat surface on or in it could also work. |

Just need to find some way to glue it to the child >_> Or you could get the Iridesance Ioun Stone to do the same job for twice the price. I think the spindle would be harder to just fall off. Or use the tower method with just the baby and 1 nanny and buy two necklaces. The nanny can make sure the baby keep his on. |

I know the spells will not probably be provided by her but you can tell in your story tha she found them by the means of some powerful npc. Riverhine is found in stormwrack and is an unbreakable material. Halaster's teleport and scrying cage are high level spells that are found in expedition to undermountain and are permanient preventing people to find and teleport into the hole and thus find or reach the baby. ring of sustenance and bottle of air in order for the baby not to die of starvation or suffocation. Is that enough? |

What kind of incarnation of evil is it going to be if it can say, "I grew up in a nice stable home, never saw anyone but my nanny." I would consider things like otiluke's resilient sphere and the like instead. Let the child see the blood and gore right up close as you splatter your enemies over his telekinetic sphere. Alternatively, you could pick up Leadership and a cohort with Harm's Way (Devoted Defender) and other special abilities like friend's evasion and the like. |
| #7rock_dsJul 24, 2010 10:38:28 | Well if that's the case you could always get inventive with the Lesser planar ally spell. Get a demon that want's the little one to be safe and grow up to be the new incarnation of evil and you may be able to waive the payment, as per the rule description. I'm not really knowledgable on what can be summoned, but it could be interesting. What better way to be maladjusted than to be carried around by a creature of the lower plans all the time =D |
| #8dariothJul 24, 2010 22:31:52 | I mentioned the above solutions while having a character concept similar to that of Necron of the "Fire and Ice" film in mind.To be honest that was the impresion I got from reading the post but I see now that my interpretation can be wrong. Anyway the one to judge this is mr. minster who made the babysiting request. Even if I was wrong about my assumption I'd say that the mother should do the same as above but when the boy gets to the age of three, she should make his life a living nightmare with special training including a great part of brainwashing about the evil ways in a practical level (for example get him before situations where the only way to survive is to kill others and use their deaths as a way to survive,or make him taste betrayal in a regural basis). Depraved intelligent individuals can make monsters out of children if they are given enough time to screw with their minds and shape them in their horrific liking. That is why there shouldn't be depraved individuals growing up children anyway. The baby doesn't have to see gore to turn murderous. It only needs the "right" guidance. |
