Last resort: I would mute fluff, and gun with any blaster (e.g., Warlock, Warmage, etc.). ideas, lines ordered by appeal, descending Wand sheath Warforged component, the "Magic Device Attunement" feat and other UMD-related feats from Complete Mage, "Shrink Item" abuse (Launch Bolt), the "Spellwarp Sniper" PrC (Complete Scoundrel, pg.64), Runestaffs and the like, JanusJones's "Spark: Plasma-Cannon Warforged", the Soulbow class, the "Arcane Archer" PrC, Awesome: A Shadowcraft Mage (PrC from Tome of Magic) that uses a Runestaff as the barrel of a homebrew, rifle-focus (you know...without the rifled bore) (optional) spell component that gives a bonus on ray spell attacks, that contains Silent Image. It's funny as word-play because it'd fit the definition of mage as one who performs tricks of illusion. Heck, take it steps further with Metamagic Rods that are like gun attachments! |
