| #1arogenithNov 27, 2008 19:19:51 | Alright alright, there's been like 15 threads about a level 20 core wizard vs a level 20 core fighter posted in the past few days or so, so, to change the swing of things, how about we start coming up with ideas that are actually, well you know, plausible challenges? Personally the first thing that came to mind when reading through the 13th or so was, why not see which Zilla is better? So there's something I'll throw out there, lvl 20 druid vs lvl 20 cleric. Anybody up for the challenge? For that I'd call it on core books only, 32 point buy, normal lvl 20 starting gold, no cohorts/leadership, though the druid could have an animal companion, 150ft spherical arena, meaning 150 ft above ground in the center & 150 ft below ground in the center. No custom magic items. Another thing that came to mind was a little more exotic...books other then core for example, something from Swordsage vs a sorcerer, warblade vs a barbarian, something like that. What about crusader vs paladin? Here's how this will go if anyone wants in, someone posts the challenge they issue, another person accepts it. You each make the opposing character, and the rest of us get to watch :D This could be done in some sort of online chatroom decided upon if people actually get in to it |

For example, meat_shield presented a thread of fighter vs druid, where, instead of arena-ing them, he compared AC, damage and HP. (Druid was better, at least at level 20) So, if you want to compare the cleric and the druid at a particular role, figure out some things to compare with, present BuildX which is optimized in those features, and let others beat you at it. This allows a numeric measurement, which is the kinda thing you should see on the CO boards. |

Numerical does work too, but for most of those things we can look at the CO board records, which I saw somewhere once.... If anyone can find a link to it, that'd be awesome, or just posting it would work. Hell, we could just work on reaching new records via not wizard or fighter classes. Speaking of which CO board record (to my knowledge) Most posts about the same question in 4 days:"Wiz 20 vs Fighter 20" amount:6 |

I can guess at the results, but 3.5 classes have specific power bands of party usefulness that I'm interested in defining. |
