| #1CantripNApr 26, 2009 13:10:12 | I'm trying to build a Sorcerer that can be prepared whenever, and to whatever, within reason, that he can. Thinking of the "comic" guys that can predict the future - maybe I'll do this with a Wizard or some better option? Maybe a Mystic Ranger / Swiftblade / Jaunter? <= It's not meant for levels higher than ~15, anyway. I'd like help with classes, feats, spells, etc. Spells that are of use: 1st - Nerveskitter, 2nd - Ray of Retaliation (Dragonmarked), Wings of Cover, 3rd - 4th - Celerity, Ruin Delver's Fortune, 5th - Spell Haven (Dragonmarked), 6th - Contingency, 7th - Arcane Spellsurge, 8th - Mysterious Redirection, Feats of use: Mark of Stars (requires a Siberys Dragonmark. Which is best? Is this even worth it, even with the amazing effect.) Divine Companion ACF. Thought, ideas? The above build would go something like: Silverbrow Human Mystic Ranger 6 / Swiftblade 9 at level 15, which is the highest realistic level. or Silverbrow Human Wizard 5 / XXX 10. |

Mark of Stars + Celerity = I do whatever I like, whenever I like. War Weaver, perhaps? Domain Access (Destiny) strikes me as the most powerful high level ability in this regard a Sorcerer could gain, what with it's spells (Omen of Peril, Augury, Delay Death, Warp Destiny, Moment of Prescience, Choose Destiny). Perhaps I should go with a Cloistered Cleric with Spontaneous Domain Casting (Destiny) and Mark of Stars? That would go as Divine Magician (instead of Knowledge Domain), SDC (Destiny), Patience/Time Domain. Or maybe a Sorcerer 5 / Urban Savant 4 / XXX? |

| #5CantripNApr 28, 2009 7:57:55 | Divine Companion? Oh, how about +HD to Saves and AC sound? That's +20 to AC and Saves @ 20th level. Or you can heal yourself with Arcane Magic "Spontaneously". In any case, I'm not thinking of someone who knows the future, per-se, more like someone who can react to anything, while staying effective. Immediate Action spells are good, as are the old staples. I'd like to incorporate a Counterspelling feat chain if I can manage the feats, too. So many options, so little direction. |

| #7dr_rocktopusApr 28, 2009 16:52:44 | My go to for this kind of stuff is a well-known fact around here, so I'll keep it to myself. That said, you're going to want to make sure that your character can do two things. 1)Get Away 2)Come Back With Help. |
| #8true_shinkenApr 28, 2009 17:57:23 | I hate to say Swiftblade does not actually advance Mystic Ranger casting as it is restricted to arcane classes without houserules. I'd love to see it work, though. |
