| #1bobzemooseApr 28, 2009 0:11:18 | in my wanderings, I have come across a class known as the spelldancer that, with sufficient rounds to burn and ranks in dance, can apply a metamagic effect to a spell, free of charge(there are a few other conditions that apply, but nothing that can't be fixed by a warlock's favorite soulmeld and being a robot). I have also come across a feat, echoing spell, that allows me to recast a spell I have previously cast that day, albeit at 4 caster levels lower. there is a second class, the spellcarved soldier that, when taken fully, allows you to add 5 caster levels on to any spell you cast. effectively, every time you cast tjhis spell, its caster level increases by a net of 1. dance in a bit of highten on the second casting and you're done. tremble spell resistance and will saves, for the robot comes, and he commands you to dance! |

| #3bobzemooseApr 28, 2009 0:57:56 | honestly it is mostlyu tyhe echoing metamagic part that worries me. I have been thinking of adding other temporary effects that raise the caster level for a theoretically near infinite caster level(given enough time) and an arbitrarily high save DC(given enough ranks in dance). was mostly the proof of concept here(though I suppose you could go incantrix 7 and use the instant metamagic to not need ranks in dance, but you can't dop that all day and it feels wrong, somehow) |

I've heard of both these PrCs before, but never seen them used together. It is an ok trick, but nothing too awesome, unless I'm missing something. Usually I've seen Spelldancer used to make a bunch of spells Persistent, and you use a warforged or undead to avoid the fatigue that normally comes from Spelldancing too long. |

PhXY, I think you can basically just keep looping it over and over to get a spell of Nth caster level. I'm unclear, admittedly. |

| #9true_shinkenApr 28, 2009 21:20:49 | Well, you do lose FIVE caster levels for this so I don't know how good it trully is. |
| #10bobzemooseApr 28, 2009 23:52:51 | agreed, I was rather giddy at finding an exploit to finally create a positive trend with echoing spell as opposed to a negative trend(in regards to caster level). Ive been thinking of replacing the 5 levels of lost caster with a few feats that allow you to boost your caster level temporarily to get some spells ridiculously high, only problem now is the time delay. I'm thinking primitive caster along with some others, currently investigating options |
