#1 Kingofswing Sep 16, 2013 10:15:57	Well I'm back from my trip and thanks to some very special people on here I have seen the light a little and you all know who you are. So while I was off I was thinking on a build and the charger build is always a power house type build and we all know this. But I wanted it so me "bird" of a DM will not just kill it off out right almost. So here is what I have come up with, mind you some of this is a very basic charger build and some I think is just a twist on it to help me out with the DM. So here goes. Orc: Samurai 0 Ronin 2 Barbarian 2 Fighter4 Frenzy Berserker 8 Feats: power attack,improved bull rush, shock trooper, leap attack, daylight adaptation, headlong rush, destructive rage, intimidating rage, item familier. Now I understand that this looks like a very basic berserker build. But here are the two questions that I need to fill in. 1 is banzai charge worth the 2 levels of ronin? 2 the item familier will be the sword and it needs to be able to calm the emotions of the berserker and heal him at the same time if needed. Any ideas of what I should put on it.
#2 Lord_of_Dragonborns Sep 16, 2013 10:18:05	Light sensitivity gives a -1 penalty on attack rolls in daylight. Why do you need a feat to negate it? That's the equilavent of Weapon Focus.

#4 Maat_Mons Sep 16, 2013 12:25:40	Sundark goggles (Races of the Dragon, p121) negate your light sensitivity for a mere 10 gp.  Alternately, you could use arctic orc (Unearthed Arcana, p10), so you wouldn't even have light sensitivity.  Personally, I'd probably stick with the goggles and go with desert orc (Unearthed Arcana, p13) or frostblood orc (Dragon Magic, p10) to get the endurance feat for free.  That qualifies you for the steadfast determination feat (Player's Handbook, p83), which lets you use constitution instead of wisdom for will saves.   I'd say that banzai charge is definitely not worth giving up supreme power attack.  With the errata, supreme power attack gives you +100% damage from power attack, while improved power attack gives you +50%.  With a two-handed weapon, moving from improved power attack to supreme power attack gives you an extra +1 damage per point of base attack bonus.  That's the same bonus given by banzai charge, but without any extra penalty to AC beyond what you were already taking with power attack and shock trooper.
#5 Kingofswing Sep 16, 2013 14:25:42	Yeah with my DM being a bird those books are not allowed but I may have away around that. The power attacks have been erratad? So it is no longer -1(+3) or -1(+4) ? F I read what you are saying right. If you take a -10 you get a +10
#6 Maat_Mons Sep 16, 2013 17:23:53	Leap attack, improved power attack, and supreme power attack have been errated.  Leap attack now adds +100% of the normal power attack damage, improved power attack adds +50% of the normal power attack damage, and supreme power attack adds +100% of the normal power attack damage.   If you use both leap attack and improved power attack with a two-handed weapon, you get the normal 2 damage per point, plus another 2 damage per point (100% of 2 damage per point) from leap attack, plus another 1 damage per point (50% of 2 damage per point) for improved power attack.  That all adds up to a total of 5 damage per point.   If you use both leap attack and supreme power attack with a two-handed weapon, you get the normal 2 damage per point, plus another 2 damage per point (100% of 2 damage per point) from leap attack, plus another 2 damage per point (100% of 2 damage per point) for supreme power attack.  That all adds up to a total of 6 damage per point.   In moving to supreme power attack from improved power attack, you go from 5 damage per point to 6 damage per point.  That's an improvement of 1 damage per point.  That's all I was getting at when I said supreme power attack gets you an extra 1 damage per point.
