| #1sleepyshadowMar 29, 2011 12:38:59 | I am currently running an Eberron campaign, and one of my players is having trouble keeping pace with the group's power level. Personally, I like PCs that aren't ridiculously overpowered, but in a group with a nigh-indestructible Master of Shrouds and The Gish From Hell, I can understand why she feels she is lagging. I am hoping that you can assist her, while sticking to what she has already. A couple of notes before I present the character in question. Due to her character concept, I home-brewed a Fighter variant in which she sacrificed all her armor proficiency in exchange for Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, and Far Shot. Additionally, I am allowing her to use the Gunslinger prestige class from D&D Wiki. I looked it over and found it very balanced. Here is the URL: www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Gunslinger_(3.5e_Prestige_Class) I know that home-brew is typically frowned upon here, but it is a little late in the game to make her change her character now. Without further ado, here is the character build as it stands. Human Ranged Fighter 2/Factotum 5/Gunslinger 2 lvl 1: Dodge, Mobility [Human], Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Far Shot [in exchange for armor proficiency], Rapid Shot [Fighter Bonus] lvl 2: Combat Archery [Fighter Bonus] lvl 3: Weapon Focus (Pistol) lvl 6: Quick Draw lvl 8: Shot on the Run [Gunslinger Bonus] lvl 9: Two Weapon Fighting [Gun Slinger Bonus], Improved Two Weapon Fighting Please offer some advice as to how she can improve her character without changing the concept. Any non-campaign specific book is allowed, as are all of the Eberron books. Thank you for your assistance. |
