So I've been toying around with the idea of an Erudite-Monk.

The general idea is for the character to be a two-weapon fighter who uses an Elven Courtblade and unarmed strikes for combat. I'm using an adaption of Smiting Spell to work with Powers to give him a little bit more variety. He'll be kicking as his unarmed strikes and I was thinking of having him almost be a kind of Highlander type (the whole There Can Be Only One thing), which is why I went with Erudite and the Convert Spell to Power alt feature (to represent Quickening*).

*I know you have to have a willing subject to gain spells through the Erudite method normally, but I may be able to change that with DM permission.

The build is as such:

Elan
1 Monk Weapon Finesse Exotic Weapon Proficiency[Elven Courtblade]
2 Monk Monastic Training
3 Erudite Spell-to-Power Tashalatora
4 Erudite
5 Erudite
6 Erudite Two-Weapon Fighting
7 Erudite Smiting Power
8 Erudite
9 Illithid Slayer Track
10 Illithid Slayer
11 Illithid Slayer
12 Illithid Slayer Superior Unarmed Strike
13 Illithid Slayer
14 Illithid Slayer
15 Illithid Slayer Improved Two-weapon Fighting
16 Illithid Slayer
17 Illithid Slayer
18 Illithid Slayer Greater Two-weapon Fighting
19 Erudite
20 Erudite

AFAIK, the best psionic monk i've ever knew was a psychic warrior/slayer with the almighty tashalatora feat.

I was about to suggest Shou Disciple, but that's FR and to get martial flurry (ANY) you have to drop five levels. Goodbye 9th level powers then. Hm. Nevermind that.

You need ascetic psion, unless you are going to wear armor. I don't remember if tashalatora lets levels stack for flurry or not, if it doesn't, in PHBII there's an alt class feature called decisive strike that may interest you.

If your DM is being ~tight about letting you get access to Arcanes,
you can always go to a Town of Size X,
and pay to learn the spell, just like a power,
as written in the Erudite entry.

Another way is to take Leadership, and have an Wizard Cohort.
You and It would gain level access at about the same rate.

Don't overlook Alter Self spell + Metamorphic Transfer feat.

These two feats would delay your feats obviously.
