| #1tijoMar 15, 2010 22:39:01 | i saw the abujant champion class and fall in love with it. It can give you crazy AC with his bonus on aburant spell i thought about fighter 4/wizard(or sorcerer)2/abjurant champion 5 simple , some feats, and spell casting my question is wizard or sorcerer? wizard: pro: more versatility in spell selection, access to polymorph earlier, acess to luminous armor and greater luminous armor (those are abjurant spell its even greater) con: lack of number of spell per day of each lvl sorcerer: pro: a lot lot of spell per day that can be use for arcane strike or anything you want con: acess to polymorph 1 lvl after wizard, and no greater luminous armor (greater luminous armor is +8 ca +4 vs melee + 5 for abjurant champ so vs melee its +17 ac for 1 spell that last 1hour/lvl) anybody have idea wich one would still be more usefull ?? better AC (wizard) or more spell (sorcerer) ??? or maybe how to botain more spell with a wizard or how to gain access to sanctified spell with a sorcerer? |

Specializing in Divination if you have Spell Compendium or other books available to expand the selections from that school. Don't forget with either, you can make use of wands, scrolls, eternal wands, and rune staves to shore up your slots per day or spells known. |

You could be a forcerer, but 'tis a silly build, even if it's a decent Gish. Of course, if a thematic spell list will fulfill your spell needs, a sorcerer is a-ok, and certain metamagics + spontaneous casting is powerful. A sorcerer should have an all-purpose cultural spell-list and situational metamagics. |

Divine power grants BAB based on your lvl 5th lvl ability of the Abj Champ allows your full BAB to count as your Caster Level. I say this is pretty good. BTW this works best with Dwarf. Go with a Focused specialist Wizard, Drop everything but Conjuration and Transmutation. Buff yourself up and you also get increased number of spells per day. Focused specialist is in Complete mage. |

If you need another Glitterdust, but already cast the only one you prepared, you're boned. Of course, the sorcerer has an even more extreme version of this, but if you choose your spells wisely, you should always have something that can deal with whatever situation you find yourself in, and you don't have to worry if you didn't prep enough of them. Wizards can get around this somewhat through various means, like the Uncanny Forethought feat, but likewise sorcerers can add spells known to their lists through a lot of different methods, also. The main thing that just kills sorcerer for me is the delayed spell progression. If they got spells at the same rate as wizards, I'd really have no problem with the class. I'm about to start playing my first one soon, and it has some kobold cheese to give it an advanced spell progression. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't play one as I just can't stomach that delay. |
