| #1ancientdragonOct 24, 2008 13:02:40 | Show Build:Illumian (Aeshnoon) [2 Flaws] 1. Wizard - Heighten Spell[Standard], Sanctum Spell[Flaw], Eschew Materials[Flaw] 2. Cleric 3. Wizard - Extra Slot[Standard] Infinite Gold: Buy a scroll of "Flash to Salt" and a cow. Cast the cow on the spell. No, -er, cast the spell on the cow. Sell that ton of salt you have. Profit. *Thanks to *Unknown* for this trick Relevant Equipment: Nightsticks (LB), Prayer Bead (Karma)(DMG), Ring of Arcane Might(MIC), Robe of Arcane Might(MIC), Ambrosia(BoED), Terran Brandy(BoVD), Vial of the Last Gasp(CV), Ioun Stone(DMG), Agony(BoVD), Band of Spell Enanchment(RavenL) *Thanks to Plys4mine. Without his Raising Caster Level index i would not have done this. Raise: 9th Level Sanctum Spell: Thanks to the our Illumian Sigil we can Heighten our spells until level 9 sacrificing uses of turn undead granted from Nighsticks. Thanks to Sanctum Spell we can improve the level of the spell by 1, making them actually of level 10 (all this at level 1). Now, wait until level 3 and take Extra Slot to gain a 9th level spell slot. *Thanks to Disposable_Hero for this trick (improved by AncientDragon) Eschew Materials eXtreme Cheese: Thanks to Eschew Materials you can cast Ice Assassin without needing to get a "piece" of the person you're copying. This means that you can copy any person in the world. Limitless Manifesting Capability: Duplicate a Psion 10/ Metamind 10 with Ice Assassin and order to the duplicate to fuse with you. Now manifest Schism and activate Source of Power. Once per round your schismed mind will ready a swift action: “Temporal Reitaration” and will manifest it before your next turn. This will grant you unlimited power points and all the effects affecting you will be permanent-like. Limitless Self-Duplicating: Cast Ice Assassin on you, then ask to your duplicate to cast Ice Assassin on you to get a fresh clone (for “fresh clone” I mean a clone of yourself with all the daily uses of your abilities etc.) Infinite Strenght: Cast Consumptive Field and Manifest (both you and one of your duplicates) Sanctum Affinity Field (out from your sanctum). Kill something in the Consumptive Field: the bonus will bounce between you two, giving both +infinite strength. Infinite Stats: Duplicate a Void Disciple for each of your stats and have them to use Void Grant on you, once for each stat. Limitless Time: Cast Temporal Acceleration. Thanks to Temporal Reitaration (always being manifested by your second mind) this effect will never end. This allows you to summon and fuse with every creature in the world without spending all your lifetime doing that. Limitless Supernatural Casting: Duplicate a Any/Dweomerkeeper 4 with Ice Assassin and fuse with him. Now fresh clones will have supernatural casting ability. All Spells, Feats, Monster/Race/Class Abilities: Duplicate anyone/anything and fuse with it, after using Shapechange to acquire the size and the type you need. Thanks to Temporal Reitaration all this effects are permanent-like. Thanks to Temporal Reitaration + Temporal Acceleration you don’t need more than a round to acquire every ability in the game. NI Divine Rank: Have a copy of yours casting Ice Assassin as Supernatural Ability, creating a god. Have the god giving us Divine Rank 1. Give the divine rank to a squirrell [...Repeat NI times...] Take back all your Divine Ranks from squirrells. *Thanks to Khan the Destroyer for this trick |

| #3arcane-surgeOct 25, 2008 0:33:01 | Out of curiousity, since you're burning 1000xp a pop for Gate, what happens when the cycle ends because you go to sleep? |
| #4ancientdragonOct 25, 2008 5:30:31 | Be a warforged and never go to sleep. |
| #5ancientdragonOct 25, 2008 8:11:17 | I'm sure we need a bump. See my first post, now updated. |
| #6bowensilverclaw1986Oct 25, 2008 10:25:59 | 1) Warforged still need rest to regain spells/powers etc. 2) A similar trick has been around for a long time which did it more elegantly, at lower level, and with fewer cohorts 3) Pun Pun never got killed in the first place Asides from these points, you still get kudos on working out such a loop, it's always fun to read when it's obvious someone has put effort into something like this. As a last point, I think your english has improved over the last post I read about one of your creations. ~Bowen |
| #7archerpwrOct 25, 2008 10:40:20 | This gets illegal on the very first line:With the benefit of class of Erudite Convert to Spell Power, learn Gate Try reading the rules next time. You can't learn ninth level spells until you have tenth level powers and you need ninth level powers to get those and you aren't getting ninth level powers nor epic leadership with Erudite 8/Metamind 10/Any 2 |
| #8ancientdragonOct 25, 2008 11:16:16 | @Bowen:1) Warforged still need rest to regain spells/powers etc. This is not a problem, I don't need to regain my spells 'coz I've unlimited bonus spell. 2) A similar trick has been around for a long time which did it more elegantly, at lower level, and with fewer cohorts You're... you really are talking about Pun-Pun? Aww men, he is THE pg, there's no matter to say that he's better :P 3) Pun Pun never got killed in the first place Oh.. it seems that I've missed something. How did the Onmiscificer's story ended? Asides from these points, you still get kudos on working out such a loop, it's always fun to read when it's obvious someone has put effort into something like this. Thank you! What's a kudo? As a last point, I think your english has improved over the last post I read about one of your creations. Hihii... Thanks @archerpwr: you're right, I've got wrong in both cases. In the first, as you may see, my trick is not affected, 'coz it still works if we summon the Phanes with a Gate casted by our cohort. In the second case I have to acquire Divine Rank and then use Divine Creation to create all the mortals I need and Fuse with them. As you see, still working :P However, I'm very thankful to you for helping me having a completely legal character. I'll upload my first post. |
| #9tshernOct 25, 2008 11:30:21 | More questions to come, infinity loops are not this is to get through here:Who is he: Okay, so your number one character is a psionic one, but Consumptive field increases caster level. Are you sure it will effect manifester level as well? The same goes for other spells that give bonus to CL checks, such as Assay spell resistance... Cohort1: Warforged Cleric 7/Disciple of the Vacuum 10 Source for the bolded PrC? Immunity to All - Combination of Zodar and Ocean Giant.(FF, MM2) Only immune to damage, not other harmful effect. All Spells: Wouldn't you still lack access to a great number of different spell lists, such as that of the Druid? |
| #10arcane-surgeOct 25, 2008 11:33:14 | Tshern: I think Disciple of the Vacuum is Void Disciple, from Complete Divine. My guess is that all of AD's D&D books are in Italian. |
| #11ancientdragonOct 25, 2008 11:34:04 | Are you sure it will effect manifester level as well? No, it won't. But I don't care :P Why should I? Source for the bolded PrC? Complete Divine. I'm not sure of the name, 'cause I've got the italian version. May be... Disciple of the Void? Or Void Disciple? Only immune to damage, not other harmful effect. Ops. My bad. But I'm sure that NI DR will fix that. Wouldn't you still lack access to a great number of different spell lists, such as that of the Druid? I can Create a Druid and then Fuse with him. Edit: Thanks Arcane-Sourge, you're right. |
| #12sonofzealOct 25, 2008 11:34:55 | Oh.. it seems that I've missed something. How did the Onmiscificer's story ended? Well, the Omniscificer came about when Pun-pun required being level 5 to pull off his ascension, and the Omniscificer beating him to the punch at lvl3. However, the most recent builds have Pun-Pun using horrible horrible gate cheese to get it off at LEVEL 1, meaning Omniscificer never gets a chance to stop him in the first place. Sad, really, as I liked the dynamic. Thank you! What's a kudo? I believe it's one of these things. |
| #13ancientdragonOct 25, 2008 11:38:54 | Er... Whoa! For both! (Why should I need a Kudo? Oh! Not THAT Kudo XD Now I understand. Thanks google.) |
| #14awaken_D_M_golemOct 25, 2008 15:05:35 | { ... just ignore the correct English-ites ... ... }Pun-pun at level 5 was the early settle line. Omni came in at level 4. Pun-pun at level 1, kicks in around the 1/2 way point of that thread. HIVE Tsuyo's version, plus Big Guy Is With Me psly4mne's version takes less time. Pun-pun at level 1, get's "outed" around the 2/3 way point in that thread. Tleilaxu_Ghola says it's DM Fiat. I say it's 3 value logic + Blood Queen + happy pazuzu. Lot's of true believers ignore the last three lines, cuz pazuzu said so ... ;) Detente. psly4mne's Monty has gone to the White Screen Of Death, unless someone can find it. Or he re-posts it. T_G had his Terminator, and Neo-Terminator, and then said it didn't work. I'm not so sure. ** Anything that gets close, is really good stuff. Pun (or whatever) is strong enough to handle a well worded contingency, allowing the appearance of co-infinites. ** No new v3.5 material is coming out, except for the occasional errata file, but even there they won't get the wording perfect, and we will all still be in business. Aleph One hasn't been done. Post-Ascended Pun defeater hasn't been done. I'm not sure which would be more difficult to ~prove to the now diminished, dispersed CO and TO crowd. Dragon mag has been yanked from Paizo and is now officially official including backdating it. We ain't done yet !! :coolcthul |
| #15ancientdragonOct 25, 2008 16:03:11 | My bad, I didn't understand everything. I'm working on it :P Just this: Anything that gets close, is really good stuff. I think means I did something good. Thanks. |
| #16tsuyoshikentsuOct 25, 2008 19:03:39 | Not really, because as far as I know archr's earlier point stands. Also, ADMG forgot my Shaedling trick on his list. (Though he got my HIVE, which I'm shocked anyone remembers.) |
| #17ancientdragonOct 26, 2008 3:58:57 | Not really, because as far as I know archr's earlier point stands. Which one? I thinked I had fix them both. |
| #18sonofzealOct 26, 2008 10:54:39 | Also, ADMG forgot my Shaedling trick on his list. (Though he got my HIVE, which I'm shocked anyone remembers.) Ah... I remember HIVE, but I don't think I've seen Shaedling. Link? |
| #19ancientdragonOct 26, 2008 11:30:14 | Why not linking the HIVE too? |
| #20Omen_of_PeaceOct 26, 2008 11:41:20 | Here is TG's Ghola, another Ascendant-without-Manipulate-Form (from Google cache). I don't even know if it's supposed to be done or not... HIVE |
| #21awaken_D_M_golemOct 26, 2008 14:28:57 | Also, ADMG forgot my Shaedling trick on his list. (Though he got my HIVE, which I'm shocked anyone remembers.) C'mon "T" , infinite knowledge checks don't get forgotten that easily. Even T_G and psly4mne remembered it on the pun-pun thread. { ... insert minor prompting from aDMg smiley face ... } To involve you specifically in one of my nefarious schemes ... :evillaugh I can't make up my mind about Shaedling vs. Dire Turtle for something very evil ?? |
| #22ancientdragonOct 26, 2008 15:48:24 | ∑in(t)f(i) Yeah. I think so. I see Sigma Jargon's hive, but not tsuyoshikentsu's one. However, this makes me think that now I'm in the number of the ascended ones? Ok, do not answer to this. I'll just continue thinking it happily ever after. |
| #23Blade2718Oct 26, 2008 18:49:56 | @archerpwr: you're right, I've got wrong in both cases. Looks like your cohort can't cast gate either, unless you've some trick I've never seen. Wiz7/VD10 only has casting as a 13th level Wizard. Just use candles of invocation, so much cleaner. |
| #24ancientdragonOct 27, 2008 1:31:39 | But this would lead to a finite number of gates... I need another cohort. Thanks for making me look at this. |
| #25Blade2718Oct 27, 2008 5:10:37 | But this would lead to a finite number of gates... I need another cohort. Thanks for making me look at this. Eh, there are so many ways to break the economy it's almost trivial to mention, but I'll give you one: flesh to salt some cows. |
| #26ancientdragonOct 27, 2008 9:52:59 | Oh hell yeah, I loved that one xD |
| #27reisOct 27, 2008 14:05:39 | temporary increases to stats don't give you bonus spells/PP |
| #28ancientdragonOct 27, 2008 14:16:13 | Ach. This is sooo annoying. However, fusing with our infinite created mortals will give us infinite prepared spells and psionic powers. But uff. I liked as it was. However thanks for the puntuation. |
| #29tsuyoshikentsuOct 27, 2008 19:13:36 | The reason you don't see mine is that I figured it out in ElephantJack's thread. He proposed trying it at level 3; I pointed out you can do it at level 1. Shaedling... look, just go look at MMIV. Or V, whichever it's in. You'll notice its ability is in no way restricted by value or magical ability, only weight. This + custom magic items = zero to Pun-Pun in less than six seconds. |
| #30ancientdragonOct 28, 2008 8:37:39 | You're so fantastic XD |
| #31ancientdragonNov 03, 2008 10:59:08 | Bumpity-o. I've a new version, with no divine rank. |
| #32tsuyoshikentsuNov 03, 2008 11:15:10 | This fails the Shaedling test. IE: If it can't ascend in the round after hitting level 7, any Wizard in the universe can kill you in about one round by polymorhping into a shaedling and making a ring of infinite power. |
| #33Omen_of_PeaceNov 03, 2008 20:11:38 | That's a ridiculous test. Why not use Pazuzu + Candle of Invocation as the level threshold while you're at it ? Or heck, no Candle, just Pazuzu's wish to be polymorphed into a Shaedling. @AD: to really become immune to everything you need Aleax trickery like Pun-Pun used - overwise there'll be an exception to your immunities somewhere (say Searing Spell for instance). |
| #34ancientdragonNov 04, 2008 11:15:36 | @Tsuyo: Ok, this isn't PERFECT yet :P @Omen: Thanks for the tip, I'm going to see what actualy Aleax is. But I'm trying to copying nothing from other builds... But I didn't get what you said about Searing Spell... Furthermore, I've NI hp, so I don't care about damage itself :P |
| #35ancientdragonNov 04, 2008 15:36:12 | Tsuyo, you might want to see the last update in my first post. Hell yeah, it's level six. Shaedling test passed, unless i've said kickeries... |
| #36Omen_of_PeaceNov 04, 2008 23:55:34 | Note that part of the goal is to make yourself invulnerable as soon as possible, lest jealous gods interfere with your Ascension by killing you. :P edit: and sadly DisposableHero's trick doesn't work as is - you need CL 17 to cast Miracle as a cleric. See PHB p171 under Caster Level. With enough trickery you can probably make it work though (Strand of Prayer Beads, etc...) |
| #37tsuyoshikentsuNov 05, 2008 1:58:13 | That's a ridiculous test. Why not use Pazuzu + Candle of Invocation as the level threshold while you're at it ? Or heck, no Candle, just Pazuzu's wish to be polymorphed into a Shaedling. Pazuzu is completely dependent on GM fiat. Core + Shaedling, any wizard in the game can do this, no ifs, ands, or buts. Although really, you could do this at level 4 by buying a scroll and taking Arcane Mastery. Tsuyo, you might want to see the last update in my first post. Hell yeah, it's level six. Shaedling test passed, unless i've said kickeries... Assuming the above concern is addressed, I concede. Note that it still loses to a level 4 Wizard with Arcane Mastery and a scroll, however. |
| #38toastedamphibianNov 05, 2008 2:22:28 | What happens if the N-1 squirrel gods decide to attack you when you start withdrawling your divine ranks.... It takes 1 standard action to reclaim one divine rank, so to reclaim your infinite divine ranks, well, won't that take you forever? [Has anyone stat'ed up a swarm of squirrel gods yet? With the number of builds on here that seem to create them as a matter of course, I'd imagine I'm unlikley to be the first one to think of it.] |
| #39ancientdragonNov 05, 2008 8:41:44 | @Omen: Thanks for pointing it out. I think now it works, ju8st buying a lot of fancy things. @Tsuyo: Thanks. Ok, maybe it STILL not perfect, but who is (pun-pun excluded)? I'll see if a can lower the level again. @Toasted: And what happens if a great black hole opens in the middle of the univers and eats you? :P |
| #40ancientdragonNov 05, 2008 13:15:32 | Uuuuh seems that I went down to third level! Tsuuuyoooo... |
| #41Omen_of_PeaceNov 05, 2008 13:31:41 | Pazuzu is completely dependent on GM fiat. Core + Shaedling, any wizard in the game can do this, no ifs, ands, or buts. Although really, you could do this at level 4 by buying a scroll and taking Arcane Mastery. Right, cause Shaedling isn't DM-dependent. Its ability can't be interpreted more restrictively within RAW to, say, be limited to non-magical items... |
| #42toastedamphibianNov 05, 2008 15:43:04 | @Toasted: And what happens if a great black hole opens in the middle of the univers and eats you? :P Diffrence: You arnt creating a giant black hole, whereas you are creating a giant angry mob of godly rodents..... I mean sure, you have infinite hp but you also have infinite rodents doing damage... |
| #43tsuyoshikentsuNov 05, 2008 18:53:30 | Uuuuh seems that I went down to third level! Tsuuuyoooo... Hey, I was satisfied at 6. Getting a scroll of Polymorph at that level is pretty fiat-heavy too. Right, cause Shaedling isn't DM-dependent. Its ability can't be interpreted more restrictively within RAW to, say, be limited to non-magical items... There's no point to posting any more on this topic if you want to discuss this with me. I consider the notion that magic items aren't items ludicrous, having no textual support. Therefore, it works. |
| #44ancientdragonNov 06, 2008 7:51:53 | @Toasted: You're right. It is, in fact, risky. |
| #45Omen_of_PeaceNov 06, 2008 23:07:38 | There's no point to posting any more on this topic if you want to discuss this with me. Fair enough - I won't. @AD: two remarks - isn't a lot of your stuff "only" permanent (due to Temporally Reiterated effects) ? I.e. if someone swoops in with a Disjunction all your Fusions go away (now it'd be hard for someone to reach you alive after the ascension is complete, but still). - you really need the blanket immunities from Aleax (if you just enumerate immunities there'll always be some way to bypass them). For instance, as far as I can't tell you don't have NI HDs which means something like a Supernatural Holy Word can kill you (very high CL is trivial to reach, in epic in particular). |
| #46ancientdragonNov 07, 2008 5:37:52 | First, thanks for your points. - Edit: No 8D The deity can render a magical or supernatural effect permanent. We'll do it, abviously. -Well, I saw Aleax and I don't find anything so exciting... Why are you saying that? For example, isn't Supernatural Holy Word a necromantic or a death effect? Would the Aleax be immune to it? And would the Zodar? |
| #47Omen_of_PeaceNov 07, 2008 9:51:10 | First, thanks for your points. A Permanent effect can still be dispelled/disjuncted. The point is also to make your Ascension more solid (in case a god swoops in and decides to toy with you). -Well, I saw Aleax and I don't find anything so exciting... Why are you saying that? For example, isn't Supernatural Holy Word a necromantic or a death effect? Would the Aleax be immune to it? And would the Zodar? Because the Aleax's blanket immunities are better than enumerated immunities. And no, Holy Word is not necromantic (it's an evocation), nor a death effect (no death descriptor) - that's the beauty of it. Now, you can actually use things like Silence to protect yourself from it but it's subject to disjunction a pointed out above... and the whole point is to not have to counter threats one by one as they arise. :D |
| #48ancientdragonNov 07, 2008 11:23:30 | Uhm uhm... interesting thing... thanks... Have you got any idea on how could I render my powers REALLY permanent? We shoul also consider the following assumptions: I: I can cast any spell II: I can cunterspell as Free Action (Instant Cunterpell) III: I can suxceed any Skill Checkthanks to infinite stats => I Can cunterspell instantaneusly every spell, suxceeding automatically So in a fight I'm indisjunctable. But you're point is still valid due to the fact that they could kill me while I'm sleeping. No, I don't sleep. But they could take when I'm thinking to something else. An army made by clones of myself would ensure that I can regain my powers, but you made me think about it. Do you know anything, maybe artifacts, that makes you immune to disjunction? |
| #49tsuyoshikentsuNov 07, 2008 12:54:36 | That ring and that sword. Someone else will know what I'm talking about; I just can't remember them for the life of me. Spellguard! That's the sword enhancement! |
| #50ancientdragonNov 07, 2008 14:12:13 | I found the ring, but not whe weapon. As it is I don't see how could the ring be useful... |
| #51Omen_of_PeaceNov 07, 2008 18:08:11 | Spellguard is for targeted spells. Supernatural abilities can't be counterspelled so that's not the answer. But with NI divine ranks you can really do whatever you like - the point again is to secure the Ascension process. Epic spells can make you immune to Disjunction and that's about it. |
| #52ancientdragonNov 08, 2008 4:33:40 | Can I cast Epic spells? However, about securing the Ascension Process: actually, at this level, only PunPun or Pun-Pun-Like character may hurt me, so I think I'm pretty safe. Am I? |
| #53tsuyoshikentsuNov 08, 2008 4:38:30 | Pretty much. The only thing this low you're gonna see that's not Pun-Pun or more of my Shaedling insanity is the level 1 HIVE build I came up with. Let me dredge that up for you, see just what you're looking at. EDIT: Well, you'll be dealing with a level 192 Sorcerer at either level 3 or 1. But that rests on some rather shaky rules assumptions. |
| #54Omen_of_PeaceNov 08, 2008 6:57:46 | Can I cast Epic spells? However, about securing the Ascension Process: actually, at this level, only PunPun or Pun-Pun-Like character may hurt me, so I think I'm pretty safe. Am I? I seem to remember part of Pun-Pun's setup was to prevent the gods from interfering, so they would either kill a puny kobold or be unable to do anything. I could be wrong. |
| #55sorcerer-random_dupNov 09, 2008 14:55:27 | Sorry for asking, but which spell is Ice Assassin, Affinity Field, Sanctum, Consumptive Field, Void Grant... In fact, I don't know what the things in the level 3 character are. I just can't figure those out, again, sorry for pestering you. Edit: Sorry for being rude also... good job on this! |
| #56ancientdragonNov 09, 2008 15:18:46 | Sorry for asking, but which spell is Ice Assassin, Affinity Field, Sanctum, Consumptive Field, Void Grant... In fact, I don't know what the things in the level 3 character are. I just can't figure those out, again, sorry for pestering you. Don't worry and thanks ;) Ice Assassin: Frostburn Affinity Field: EPH Sanctum Spell: Cityscape (?) Consumptive Field: Libris Mortis Void Grand: Complete Divine (<- I'm not sure about the translation of this name, sorry. It's the 10th level ability of Void Disciple, Complete Divine) |
| #57sorcerer-random_dupNov 09, 2008 17:51:50 | I wish I had all of those. Currently I cannot access Ice Assassin, Sanctum, and Void Grant (I think that's it, I'm not sure). I don't have access to these since Geraturatu doesn't appear to have any of those three books. Oh, and I'm assuming Temporal Reiteration and Temporal Acceleration are the same things? (both effectively giving you 1 round while everything else remains in place? Or no?) |
| #58ancientdragonNov 10, 2008 10:32:22 | No they aren't :P They're both psionic powers, but: Temporal Reitaration make the effects that are affectiong you to last one more round Temporal Acceleration is like time stop. |
| #59sorcerer-random_dupNov 10, 2008 17:14:53 | hmm, I wonder how it translates, since I have only one temporal spell I can find... This is certainly an interesting difficulty... |
| #60turok124Nov 10, 2008 19:57:29 | Temporal Reiteration is in Complete Psionics for those of you scratching your heads while looking at the SRD |
| #61awaken_D_M_golemDec 31, 2008 16:11:29 | ![]() ![]() ** Oh noes !! Tsuyo's gone and joined the Dark Side ... ... with Tleilaxu_Ghola. |
| #62ishpumalibuJan 01, 2009 20:14:32 | wait but if you use ice assassin to make a copy of yourself, doesn't it try to kill you? |
| #63somethings90Jan 10, 2009 16:41:18 | wait but if you use ice assassin to make a copy of yourself, doesn't it try to kill you? Not if you command it not to. |
| #64jameswilliamogleJan 10, 2009 19:02:33 | Actually, the earliest level for pun-pun is the minute kobolds combine their wealth to pay for a scroll of shapechange and can emulate a high enough CL to do it... I thought I'd seen a L3 pun-pun version, but its been so long since I visited TO... (Did that board get merged to this one??? Not sure of the relevance to post here... I was finishing my dis when all that combining happened...) |
| #65mad3yezJan 02, 2010 3:45:30 | erm. . . this is all pretty amazing. but uh.... Where do I get source for scroll of flash to salt? Im curious because in my game we can play anything we can prove conclusively from a book, with the understanding that the dm will reciprocate in the same manner. Thusly if I played pun pun the outer planes would randomly implode and all those pesky dieties would team up on me. course who knows I might win :D |
