But I think that using another trick it could be done better. Not so much better, but a little, if the trick works, yes. You've to be, another time, a Magic-Blooded Human, Human Paragon 1 / Marshal 1 / Cleric 1 / Human Paragon 2 / Cleric 4 / Vermin Lord 10 / Fang of Lolth 1 So, your UMD check will be: 23 base + 15 cha + 15 inspire cha + 30 skill item (competence) + 23 item familiar + 2 Magical Aptitude + 3 Skill Focus + 4 Fang of Lolth --------------- +115 Grab yourself a Staff of Gate. No, well, grab 2 Staffs. Use UMD to emulate spellcasting as if you were a (check-20) level cleric, and then summon as many Spider Swarms (MM, 2HD, 9pf) as possible.

| #2billthemaniacFeb 12, 2008 19:04:58 | Isn't it maxed out by an increase of half your CL though? How do you get around that? |
| #3ancientdragonFeb 16, 2008 10:55:42 | Yeah, I only maxed my CL with the existent build. |
| #4ancientdragonFeb 22, 2008 11:28:25 | Maybe I didn't understand the question? |
| #5betasquirrellFeb 22, 2008 13:51:27 | No, you got it right. The issue is, I think it was ruled that Consumptive Field doesn't stack with itself (bonus from the same source and all that). I don't know where I stand on it (not having researched it), but last I heard there was a huge debate over it. |
| #6ancientdragonFeb 24, 2008 12:52:31 | Well I think that if I cast TWO consuntive field and kill a single creature, the bonus is from one. But two creatures in a singles consuntive field means two bonuses. no? |
| #7ancientdragonFeb 28, 2008 9:02:03 | NOW I understand the problem! CF can onlu give you +1/2 of your CL! Sorry... |
| #8awaken_D_M_golemFeb 28, 2008 15:14:24 | Vermin Lord provides the control mechanism. "Yadot" found a sufficient control mechanism, on ElephantJack's Hive at level 3. I prefer a more ephemeral touch, via "directing", a concentration check, and a suggestion. One swarm of 12000 bugs works out to about: (12000/50) = 240, so ... 4/3 * TT = 4+ * 240 = ~1000 a 4 swarm hivemind = 1000 Int + Cha, 500 skill points + feats + Sorceror levels each one uses a bag of holding, which fits 8 more per previous bug. ~50000 bugs * 100000 bag bugs 1000 * 100000 = 100,000,000 Int Cha and 50,000,000 skills feat Sorc |
| #9loganic1Mar 22, 2008 0:05:41 | I had a quick question. Could you use cooperative spell to boost the spell casting ability even more? I mean if all the swarms cast fireball for example together, could they use cooperative spell? Fireball could be replaced with any other offensive spell. It's not much enhancement, but every little bit helps, right? |
| #10EndarireSep 28, 2008 17:53:50 | This may be worth reconsidering. |
