#1 trickydevl666 Apr 16, 2012 12:44:47	So i'm about to start in a game starting at level 6. The other two party members are a Druid using himself, his summons, and his animal companion to tank and a Psychic Warrior who does psywarrior stuff. I had thought about going through and making a spellcaster to match their level of power, but now that I think about it I just want to have fun. So I decided to create a Bard/Dirgesinger who will eventually go into Seeker of the Song. I just think it will be fun just sitting there singing while everyone else actually does things. The stats I rolled are 18, 14, 14, 13, 12, 11. Race I'm thinking Half-Elf. So for the level 6, i'm thinking Rogue 2/Bard 3/Dirgesinger 1 1 Skill focus (perform) 3 Versatile Performer or Extra Music 6 Requiem So any suggestions for me?

Try +14d6 (Bard 20, feats include Song of the Heart, Dragonfire Inspiration, and Words of Creation, with the Vest of Legends (DMG2), has an Inspire Courage base of +6, increased by 1 by the Medal of Valor (MIC, it's a set item) or the Inspirational Boost spell (SC), and then doubled by taking a pittance of nonlethal damage for Words of Creation.) This can also be done with almost-full base attack using Crusader or Warblade with Song of the White Raven in there too. (For sonic damage, you need Draconic Heritage, which is tricky to do if you still want strong Inspire Courage. However, if you do get it, it lets you get a free Empower on it with Creaking Cacophony (SC).) But yes, setting that aside,  the handbook's entirely what you're looking for.

I was supposing the following: Silverbrow Human: race variant, gain dragonblood subtype, lose bonus skill points, Dragon Magic 6 Bard 3+: minimum to qualify for song of the heart Dragonblood Sorcerer 1: substitution level, gain draconic heritage, lose familiar, Races of the Dragon 107 Inspirational Boost: spell (bard 1), cast as swift action, inspire courage activated in the next round grants additional +1, Spell Compendium 124 Badge of Valor: item (1,200 gp), activate as immediate action 3/day, inspire courage grants additional +1, Magic Item Compendium 208 Song of the Heart: feat, inspire courage grants additional +1, Eberron Campaign Setting 60 Dragonfire Inspiration: feat, convert inspire courage bonus from +X attack and damage to +Xd6 damage, Dragon Magic I'm going by the interpretation of badge of valor used in the inspire courage guide, where you activate it while inspire courage is in effect to increase the bonus for the remainder of the effect. It could alternately be interpreted that you activate badge of valor in conjunction with activating inspire courage, in which case you can't use both it and inspirational boost on the same inspire courage.
#5 trickydevl666 Apr 18, 2012 14:08:03	Thank you for the suggestions. Right now I'm going with silverbrow human Bard 1/ Sorc 1/ Bard +3/ Dirgesinger 1. Feats: 1: skill focus perform, tbd 2: draconic heritage (bonus) 3: Dragonfire inspiration 6: Requiem skill focus (perform) is for seeker of the song. at 9 i'll take song of the heart. I wanted to get into dirgesinger at the earliest possible time. I'll still use inspiration for that +2 inspire courage, but DM hasn't given equpiment yet so i'll try to get the badge as well.  Thanks again.
