Ok, sry if this is in the wrong section but....

Im trying to find in the books where it shows the effects on your character at different age levels.

Now i think ive seen something like that before, but i could be wrong. wouldn't be the first or last.

Any help would be greatly welcomed.

Thank you

the key point.... is the effects are cumulative

@ Middle Age: -1 Str,Dex,and Con, and +1 to Int, Wis, and Cha

then add the modifiers when you get to Old:
@ Old age: -2 Str,Dex,and Con, and +1 to Int, Wis, and Cha
for a total of:
-3 Str,Dex,and Con, and +2 to Int, Wis, and Cha

then add the modifiers when you get to Venerable:
@ Venerable Age: -3 Str,Dex,and Con, and +1 to Int, Wis, and Cha

for a total of:
-6 Str,Dex,and Con, and +3 to Int, Wis, and Cha

getting the bonuses lose thier value quickly due to the penalties

Middle age is worth it for many spellcasters, though, and being even older might be worth it in some circumstances.

For a middle aged spellcaster, for example, you're likely to have not spent alot on boosting your physical stats, but raising your mental ones another point would be expensive. So you can take the hit to the physicals, boost the one(s) you care about back up cheaply via point buy, and get another point to your mental(s) that would have been prohibitively expensive.

If you plan to use polymorphing or body snatching magic of some kind, or becoming undead, being even older might be a good idea.

Reincarnate is the classic abuse.

For point buy, I vaguely recall something like: 1 per until 12, then 2 per until 16, then 3 per(limit 18).

8-12=4 total
13-16=8 total
17-18=6 total

Final result is 18 points for 10 ability points.

Let's see.

3 Int/Wis/Cha is worth as much as 3*3*3=27 points(total).
6 Str/Dex/Con is worth as little as 12(Assuming you don't buy them higher than 12 before penalties and race).

So yeah, it's worthwhile for casters.
