| #1cycadaJul 14, 2008 16:56:03 | This build will be used if the other one is considered too powerful/controversial/etc. to be used in the campaign. Tell me what you all think: Race: Human Alignment: Neutral Evil Domains: Undeath, Planning 1st: Crusader 1: Power Attack, Iron Will(human) 2nd: Crusader 2 3rd: Crusader 2/Cleric 1: Spell Focus(evil), Extra Turning(bonus), Extend Spell(bonus) 4th: Crusader 3/Cleric 1 5th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1 6th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1: Divine Might 7th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1/Bone Knight 1 8th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1/Bone Knight 2 9th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1/Bone Knight 3: Persistant Spell 10th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1/Bone Knight 4 11th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1/Bone Knight 5 12th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1/Bone Knight 6: DMM: Persist 13th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1/Bone Knight 7 14th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1/Bone Knight 8 15th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1/Bone Knight 9: Open? 16th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1/Bone Knight 10 17th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1/Bone Knight 10/???? 1 18th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1/Bone Knight 10/???? 2: Open? 19th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1/Bone Knight 10/???? 3 20th: Crusader 4/Cleric 1/Ur-priest 1/Bone Knight 10/???? 4 This ends up being a somewhat durable build (due in part to steely resolve) that is a monster in close combat with persisted effects from Ur-priest. I couldn't figure out how to qualify for Bone Knight by 5th level, or this build would be immensely more powerful IMHO. If anyone has a method to do this I would love to here it. I'm also in the need of a cap to finish it all off, as well as a second Domain. This build is a lot more straight forward than my other one, and ends up being a CoDish build as far as I'm concerned. Thanks again for your help. ~Cy |

I would suggest taking planning as your other domain because it will give you Extend Spell as a bonus (prereq for Persistant Spell) and bump DMM persistant one feat slot. As for the last level take a look into ruby night vindicater to finish it up. |
| #3cycadaJul 15, 2008 12:57:22 | Ah, I wasn't sure if you had to have the metamagic feat itself, thanks for that. Is there any way to qualify for Bone Knight by 5th level? I know you can do it with Paladin, but if I take anything with a Base Will Save of less than +2, then I can't take Ur-priest at 6th, defeating the whole purpose of taking the first level of BK before Ur-priest. I'm feeling that it might be impossible, since there's no class that gives Divine casting, full BaB, good will and fort, and turn undead, all by 4th level. Edit: Looking at the prestige class it would be decent, but the problem is is that you have to worship Wee Jas, meaning no Ur-priest, correct? |
| #4malkavonJul 15, 2008 15:47:52 | Just talk to your DM about adapting the PrC to your purposes. 9 times out of 10, the pre-written fluff for a class is there so people with no imagination don't have to think too hard about their back story. RKV fits any build based around Crusaders, divine magic and sneakiness, really. And, seriously, if he's letting you abuse Ur-Priest, he'll let you adapt RKV. You don't even get it's broken power. |
