| #1ArisiraFeb 27, 2015 21:03:57 | I would want a help with an idea i have in mind, im thinking about a character that strikes with his sword(or whatever weapon he uses, a dagger, a mace, whatever) and cast spells by hitting you, i've thought of using the Imbuement feat or the Channel Touch feat. For this build i was thinking about a cleric that is way better at melee than a sorcerer, but any suggestions are welcome. I've found 2 problems, the spell resistence is one of them, the other is: I dont know how to build this character and make it effective, in my group we have an artificier an charger and a psion, they are all very optimized, and i wanted this character to be at least usefull in combat. im starting at lv 1 and everything is permited, except for pathfinder. if anyone can help I am kind of lost, the idea for this character is an arcane hitter, someone that strikes you and cast spells os cast spells that he discharges upon striking.
Here are some things i would/wouldnt want this character to be able to: 1- I dont want him to be the hit and buff allies type (if i would do that i would just build a suport cleric and make a dip for crusader, this character is intended is more of a debuffer, hiting with shivering touch and etc.) 2- I dont want him to be built to hit and start casting buffs like bull's strenght on himself (I dont even know if this is possible), but if there could be a way of stealing attributes like STR, CON, CHA, etc. or maybe Stealing Saves scores to add to his own or just to lower the foe stat would be awesome ( It happens that I dont know if this is possible either)
Maybe this is a little vague but i would appreciate your help in any way you can advise me. |

| #3ArisiraFeb 27, 2015 23:41:43 | i see my fault here, sorry for that, i intend to make this character out of a full caster class like a wizard, cleric or druid(for example), i've seen the duskblade, thats where the idea came from, that and an mmorpg i was playing, but duskblades doesnt seem strong enough, his lack of the 8 and 9 level spells apparently makes him weaker (I might be wrong). The main idea is to make someone that can do it to cast mainly debuffs or buffs, not damage focused, my team already has a frenzier and a psionic damage focused. That said i see very little options for that in the duskblade spell list, mostly touch of idiocy and enervation are the type of spells im looking after. Besides that, the arcane Chanelling is exactly what im looking after, but if i take a 3 levels dip it still only let me make it with one spell per round as a standart action, isnt worth the 3 level dip. After i've seen this i decidely to come ask for help, im sorry for not saying that up in this thread.
Thats also the reason i said i didnt know if this type of build was possible. |

Complete Arcane alone has the following options for debuffing Essences: Sickening Blast, Beshadowed Blast, Noxious Blast, Utterdark Blast (this pinnacle option shreds living oponents when combined with Glaive).
Aside from blasts you've got great synergy with Fear (see the Fear handbook) and several other strong debuffing invocations. |

| #8ArisiraFeb 28, 2015 13:27:21 | thankyou those 2 ideas are similar to what i want, i think i might try the sublime chord idea, thank you very much. |
| #9NineInchNallFeb 28, 2015 14:45:49 | For that the class order would be something like:
Bard 1 Duskblade 3 Bard +6 Sublime Chord 2 Abjurant Champion 5 Spellsword 1 Sublime Chord +2
Obviously prioritizing Charisma. |
