| #1hungryhungryhippo987Dec 27, 2008 20:45:35 | So last night me and my friends did this crazy game. We were just messing around and it turned out really fun. This was the basis: you can be any playable creature and you can throw on as many templates as you want. Basically after some of us discovered the paragon template, anyone who wasn't a paragon got left in our dust. I was an Efreeti then I was a Paragon Ogre Mage. My friend was a vampire half-dragon paragon goblin, my other friend was a paragon imp. another was a half-nymph succubus....you can tell what that character was meant for. One was a five headed spawn of Tiamet. And finally, Mike was some type of "advanced" human, and ended up having 100 Str and Con. literally after that we got one class level. Theres no limit on ECL. Every thirty minutes or so we would switch DM's. Death was a very common occurance. I just wanted to throw this up here and see what ideas anyone would come up with. |
| #2emyDec 27, 2008 21:23:21 | Oh come on, you can't honestly post something that open ended up here. I'd probably go with a highly advanced Steel Dragon (thanks, Surreal!), with with some templates like Half-Celestial, Paragon, Monster of Legend, Dark, Phrenic, Vampire, Master Vampire. oh then Evolved Undead template * a billion. |
| #3reisDec 27, 2008 21:28:46 | pseudonatural paragon great wyrm prismatic dragon? |
| #4vglcatDec 27, 2008 21:46:36 | i would be a wizard pixie paragon ghost. yes fey can't take templates. read this thread. all off it. http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1120701&highlight=pixie+wizard i mean it. |
| #5kell_kheraptisDec 27, 2008 22:06:05 | pseudonatural paragon great wyrm prismatic dragon? Ninja-ed. H.P. Lovecraft tentacle beast ftw. EDIT : BIGTIME ftw would be a Choker, super advanced, as a paragon/pseudonatural/phrenic/tauric something or another. Any monster with verbal spellcasting gets shut down by its STFU grapple attack, and if you throw in MoL, you can tack on even more crap that triggers when it grapples...and that's a LOT of tentacles. |
| #6surrealDec 28, 2008 1:50:59 | Any monster? So... great wyrm? black ethergaunt? seriously? |
| #7true_shinkenDec 28, 2008 17:59:11 | Paragon Tarrasque SORCERER. |
| #8carnivoreDec 28, 2008 20:09:21 | try this: Half-dragon Half-celestial Pseudonatural Paragon Advanced 40 HD HA-NAGA Monk 1 cast spells as 41st lvl Sorceror stats: Str 76, Dex 65, Con 63, Int 54, Wis 60, Cha 57 :D |
| #9pyro_azerDec 28, 2008 22:43:59 | Paragon, pseudonatural, lemurian, radiant creature, poisonous, stone blooded, lolth touched, dry lich, demi lich, great wyrm prismatic dragon Str 124 Dex 45 Con- Int 95 Wis 102 Cha 99 This and hordes of other SLAs, special qualities, and Supernatural abilities that I don’t feel like listing. Oh and commoner 1. |
| #10hungryhungryhippo987Dec 28, 2008 22:47:17 | not ANY creature. any PLAYABLE creature. the tarrasque was not meant to be a playable race. mostly, anything in the savage species was allowed. |
| #11jaronkDec 29, 2008 4:46:43 | So, the half dragon template can be applied multiple times, since it doesn't change types and there's tons of possible half dragon types. Apply all the various half dragon types (there are 52) for, +416 str, +104 Con, +104 Cha, +104 Int, and +208 Natural AC... plus immunity to all energy forms of damage. Slap that on a Black Ethergaunt and you're a virtually unstoppable Wizard. Then slap on the Shadow and Dark templates, so you're really hard to detect. Heck, the following template list is totally allowed (and stupid): Corrupted, Poisonous, Stoneboned, Mineral Warrior, Katori, Draconic, Half Air Elemental, Half Fey, Wendigo, Shadow, Chameleon, Ti-Khana, Woodling, Dark, Fetch, Ghedon, Ghul, Katane, Hooded Pupil, Half Troll, Half Dragon, (All 52) Black Ethergaunt. Congratulations, you're immune to darn near everything and regenerate, have stupidly high stats, decent DR, and all kinds of insane random abilities. Plus, your AC is now "moar." Why bother with this though? JaronK |

| #13tos_shai_huludDec 29, 2008 8:02:47 | Two "Half-" make a whole! ... at least if common sense is asked... Actually, it really depends on what it means to be "half-" something. A person who had one grandparent who was asian: would they think, "I'm ¼ Asian?" Or would they consider themselves "Half-Asian"? I believe the distinction is actually "Do I have Asian ancestry within the past 3 generations?" If the answer is yes, they you are half-asian. Going by human guidelines, this would place the cap of "half-" templates at 7 (since your eighth "half" would be your base race). However, this is not cut-and-dry. Would a creature with 1/16th dragon ancestry lose enough of his draconic abilities that he would lose the half-dragon template? That is really unknown. Perhaps the half-dragon template is the dominate trait and easily passed genetically to its children. If this were the case, then if you have ANY ancestor that was a dragon, you could possess elements of the half-dragon template, even if it skipped generations. So, you could have as many halves as you like, and so long as they all happened to activate in you genetically, it is acceptable. |
| #14amadithegreatDec 29, 2008 8:15:07 | Human Ghost Advanced Undead times billion Paragon. Fast healing billion. Billion bonus to deflection AC. Billion different SLA's. Two billion charisma. /posses, save DC billion. /win. Also: Add pseudonatural for lulz. |

Heck, the following template list is totally allowed (and stupid): Lol, I don't know if you can manage it, but the black ethergaunt already has 17th level wizard spellcasting ability. If there are any templates that add hit dice, you can bring him to over 20 hit dice. If you can snag Practiced Spellcaster, your caster level is 21st. If that allows you to be treated as a 21st level caster, you may qualify for demilichdom, whose prerequisite is 21st level wizard, sorcerer, or cleric, and you must be a lich. Of course, our dragon friend would have to be a dracolich instead of a regular lich, and may not qualify. Unless a dracolich is enough of a lich to qualify. Anyway, if he does qualify, demilich is a nice addition to JaronK's list! |
