#1 karanth May 11, 2008 5:40:06	Was looking through a number of books, and it struck me that Tower Shields, while being impressive, have not gotten much love, even from classes that reasonably be able to use them. (Knight, anyone?) Has anyone actually been able to make a decent build with a Tower Shield as a main focus of the character, or at least a non-trivial part of it? All the things that come to mind for me can be done better in most cases with a Heavy or Light Shield.
#2 jameswilliamogle May 11, 2008 8:25:28	The -2 to hit and lack of shield bashing really messes up the love it gets around here, but there's no reason not to use it, particularly in a melee-light party. The total cover option is freakin' awesome before you encounter enemy casters: it blocks LoS to those behind you, RAW, allowing casters to buff, Rogues to hide, or anyone else to lob splash weapons to known enemy squares. Truly great, though it does take away from what a warrior is supposed to do: bash enemies. Still, this starts to lose effectiveness around L6-9, and the warrior will want to start upping his damage output, so its not worth it to invest feats into it, really. Hope this helps!
