| #1choogabumJan 28, 2009 7:50:35 | Hi there, I need some CO's opinions and suggestions concerning fighter focused in damage dealing. My DM is a b****, so ToB and UA are not allowed. Only "classic" races - like elves, halflings, humans, dwarf - are allowed. No psionics. No mount "tricks". We'll play that 3 books FR "end of the world" campain. I already looked for a nice build in this forum. Some ideas: - Lion totem barbarian is a must! - Resolute and Dungeon Crusher look nice. - I want to use a exotic weapon - no spiked chain and variants - most likely greathammer from MM4. - I have a bonus feat at 1st lvl, so a human fighter would grab 4 feats at 1st lvl. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance. =D |
| #2carnivoreJan 28, 2009 8:01:13 | what is "We'll play that 3 books FR "end of the world" campain."? ... is it Core(PHB,MM,DMG) +1 FR book?... what books exactly are allowed? What is the starting level? how about something simple: Human Ranger 2/ Barbarian 2/ Fighter 4/ Horizon Walker xxxx :D |
| #3choogabumJan 28, 2009 9:07:16 | this campain i'm talking about: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=products/fracc/956857200 http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=products/fracc/978078694 it's a 3 book campain, but i can't find the 2nd one... So... we start at 4th level. about the build, i can't see why ranger 2 and not ranger 3 in this build, since i need endurance to qualify to horizon walker. fighter 4 is just "half" dungeon crusher ? i only get 4d6 + 2x str right? I guess fighter 6 would be better. any more ideas ? Thanks. |
| #4carnivoreJan 28, 2009 10:01:46 | this campain i'm talking about: here is the second: Shadowdale: The Scouring of the Land So... we start at 4th level. because i didnt know what books you were allowed to use.... nor the starting level... also what is the rest of the party like? :D |
| #5choogabumJan 28, 2009 11:12:40 | Books allowed: - Core and core II - All Complete books - All Races books - All FR books - All "enviroment" books (cityscape, frostburn, etc) We have a house rule. Every PC must have 2 core classes and 2 PrC max. Like rogue/ranger/assassin/horizon walker or fighter/master thrower/invisible blade... u got it right ? My group at the moment is: - Cleric of Azuth (healing and talking) - Defensive fighter (good AC, tanker type) - Wizard (crowd control) - Ranger/rogue (stealth type) - My damage dealer fighter. Sorry about my english... it's not my native language. thanks in advance. |

| #7metagonJan 28, 2009 12:36:19 | Agreed. Go human with Jotunbrud and Knockback. Jotunbrud is a human regional feat that gives you powerful build, which lets you qualify for Knockback from Races of Stone. Knockback synergizes well with Dungeoncrasher; with Knockback, when you attack with a power attack, you get a free bull rush attempt; this means that you don't have to waste one of your attacks to only bull rush, now you can just bull rush off of any attack. Obviously you'll need Power Attack and Improved Bull Rush, which are prereq's for Knockback, but also obvious choices on any dungeoncrasher. Take a few barbarian levels for your Lion Totem pounce and rage. With a few more feats you qualify for Frenzied Beserker. If you're going to charge, consider Leap Attack (Complete Adventurer), Shock Trooper, and Combat Brute (both from Complete Warrior). |
