Anyone have some Epic advice?

I don't have any experience with epic feats, PrCs, equipment...
Would anyone care to give some general (or specific) advice on building/optimizing an epic character? No ToB, MoI or non-WotC, please.

15 or so epic levels of whatever on top of the 20 level base if things go over a bit, no problem... I just want something to kickstart this process.

I'm open to anything interesting and creative, whether tank, skillmonkey, or magic/psychic something... but very unique (whether in complexity or simplicity).

Any races, templates or other strangeness...

For Melee, I'd say:

Half Ogre 2 / Barbarian 4 / Fighter 4 / Frenzied Berserker 10 / War Hulk 10 / Warblade 5 (or epic frenzied berserker 5 if a progression is available and worthwhile)

Spiked Chain, trip, etc, etc, etc.

For caster, I'd say:

Cleric 35, pretty much every epic feat spent on Improved Spell Capacity ( and epic spell once to get a Wis boosting spell ).
1) Metamagic Miracle spells
2) Win

What book is War Hulk from?
Warblade is no good as it's from ToB...

any advice on specific epic feats or epic PrCs?

It seems WotC abandoned support for Epic in 3.5 with errata to update ELH...

war hulk is from miniatures handbook

Legendary dreadnought is good for epic melee

the most important stats for any epic character are initiative, spot, and listen...cause usually if someone gets the drop on you, they win

What book is "War Hulk" from?

Well... it's a pretty broad topic, and it really depends on what you want to do with your character.

I'll post a few sample epic builds that I've done, although I'll have to expand a couple of them...

Divine Weather Witch:

Raptoran Cleric 6 (as tempting as it may be, don't take the sub levels)/Stormlord 10/Skypledged 10/Contemplative 10.

Gets unmatched weather control abilities, including a divine spellpool that grants access to druid spells. Throwing multiple greater whirlwinds, storms of vengeance, and other such spells around wreaks havok with anything, coupled with natural flight (unimpeded by weather due to your stormlord abilities) makes this one tough cookie.

Uttercold Assault Necromancer:

Human Sorcerer 6/Incantatrix 10/Archmage 4/Elemental Savant (cold) 10.

Yes, it's only up to 30th level... I don't have my copy of Libris Mortis handy, or I might throw on something from there. Or Epic Incantatrix, that's always fun. In any event, throw on Tomb-Tainted Soul at level 1 and you're set for however long you want to keep killing things. Make sure to pick up the mass raise dead spell when you get level 9 spells, to save on Ebony. Spell Knowledge is always a handy epic spell, once you've got an epic spell or two under your belt.

Skillmonkey deceptive main caster:

Human Bard 1/Rogue 3/Beguiler 6/Sublime Chord 10/Mindbender 1/Spellwarp Sniper 5/Daggerspell Mage 10.

I actually built this for somebody else, who was asking for a tricky character that used CScoundrel stuff, and had both Bard and Rogue levels. I've always been fond of epic spellcasters, and the Sublime Chord gave me a way to capitalize on the spellcasting. Here's a full layout, complete with spell charts and feats and such, up to level 30:

if you're gonna do an epic spellcaster eschew materials--->Ignore Materials epic feat is pretty sweet

i tend to shy away from precision damage based builds at epic since it's very easy for your opponents to become immune

Get an Epic Destiny. That's probably some of the most FUN you can have in epic.

outside of that, epic spellcasting and multispell. Oh, Permanent Emanation and Eschew Material Components too.
Spell Stowaway for Heal and Timestop.

Basically, get some RIDICULOUS goal and work towards it.

Spellcasters will kill everything in epic game as well, so playing a melee character requires some very good optimizating skills. Just a warning...

Cleric any/Hierophant1(reach)/Contemplative1 or more/Ordained champion

Basically, in epic the Cleric is even worse than pre-epic. But don't waste time with expanded Spell capacity unless Nightstick stacking or other free MM is impossible. Personally I would go with Leadership/Epic Leadership for an Incantatrix cohort to persist your spells for you.

Then buff your CL and stack on a TON of persisted buffs. Get a Nightmare (perhaps as a cohort for your cohort, or as an intelligent undead) and always walk around in Astral projection. If you're dispelled, so will the projection, but your body will wake up with all buffs still on. Then make a new projection and teleport back to the battle.

Just smash everything in Melee, since you'll be better at it than any non-ToB melee build.

Now since you haven't even said what you want to play, I don't think more detail is appropriate.
