| #5emyFeb 04, 2009 1:27:09 | Links: Barbarian Whirling Frenzy (alternate form of Rage) The Lion Totem alternate class feature is in Complete Champion. It replaces the Barbarian's Fast Movement ability with Pounce. |
| #6esytFeb 04, 2009 19:33:30 | all very simple so yes a 1 level dip i see is inorder is there anyway for me to get that druken master charge ability where i can charage any which way i want? |
| #7jameswilliamogleFeb 04, 2009 19:39:48 | Any which way is tough, but in the SRD there's this and a similar skill trick in Complete Scoundrel that doesn't require psionics. |
| #8metagonFeb 04, 2009 23:08:10 | Boots of the Battle Charger lets you charge as a standard action up to your speed (instead of twice your speed). Unfortunately it's only twice a day. The Twisted Charge skill trick is only once per encounter, and Psionic Charge requires expending psionic focus. There is also the Diamond Mind maneuver Bounding Assault that lets you take two move actions as part of your charge, but its subject to the same refresh rate as other maneuvers. Travel Devotion lets you have the ability to move as a swift action for a minute once a day, so then you can charge for the rest of the round. |
| #9esytFeb 05, 2009 1:51:55 | i see battle charger boots and a belt of battle for one free turn so i guess ill go with that anyone else have anything neat to suggest? |
| #10emyFeb 05, 2009 1:57:59 | i see battle charger boots Yeah, check out Endarire's dragoon thread. You might find a few ways to multiply your damage on a charge. Many of them involve jumping though, so they may not mesh that well with the character you've already established. |
| #11saxisFeb 05, 2009 11:08:06 | I've got a build that does something similar, not sure if you'd be interested: Human, LN 1. Cobra Strike Monk: *Dodge, *Carmendine Monk, Combat Reflexes 2. Cobra Strike Monk: *Mobility, *Evasion 3. Swashbuckler: *Weapon Finesse, Exotic Weapon Prof (spiked chain) 4. Swashbuckler: 5. Swashbuckler: *Insightful Strike 6. Fighter: *Combat Expertise, Improved Trip 7. Fighter: *Weapon Focus (spiked chain) 8. Fighter: 9. Fighter: *Spring Attack, Power Attack 10. Exotic Weapon Master: *Exotic Weapon Trip 11. Duelist: *Canny Defense 12. Duelist: Elusive Target 13. Duelist: 14. Duelist: 15. Duelist: Robilar's Gambit 16. Duelist: 17. Duelist: *Elaborate Parry 18. Duelist: Bounding Assault 19. Fighter: 20. Fighter: *Rapid Blitz *Bonus feats/notable class abilities Basically, you fight defensively and go Spring Attacking, trying to provoke as many AoO's as you can by NOT tumbling. Something to boost your speed and size is extremely helpful. Basically, you assume they're going to miss your ramped up AC. You get Int to AC twice from Carmendine and Duelist, and to damage from Swashbuckler. When they do miss, you make your free trip and free attack from Elusive Target and Improved Trip. If you had Robilar's activated, you get another attack. You still get your 3 attacks from Rapid Blitz on the Spring Attack. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. |
| #12esytFeb 05, 2009 14:21:09 | alrighty love the build posted above should i take a flaw to get shock trooper to ramp up damage and stuff? |
| #13saxisFeb 05, 2009 17:28:01 | Well, the point is really the tripping, which the majority of comes with the Cause Overreach from Elusive Target. You need your enemies to MISS you on their AoO, so if you start dropping your AC to Power Attack, they have a much better chance of hitting. Granted, it's fairly easy to get this build's AC around 70 by 20th level... I play this in a party of 7 with 2 other damagers, so I'm not as concerned about damage, although I still do pretty well. I usually only Power Attack 4 or so, which is made up by any tripped opponents -4 to AC. PS: This build also suffers a bit from MAD. He uses Dex to attack and AC, Str for damage and tripping power, Int for damage and AC, and as a melee fighter, Con isn't bad to have either... With 32 pt-buy, I went Str 14, Dex 17, Con 12, Int 15, Wis 10, Cha 8 |
