Are there any good Psionic Tattoos?

I'm considering playing a Psionic Artificer in an upcoming game (I wanted psionics, but to also be able to heal and buff a bit. With infusions I can do those, and with powers I can blast. The party needs a blaster, too.)

As a psionic artificer, I get Scribe Tattoo as a bonus feat.

Is there any use for the darn things?

Tattoos of personal powers (ie pretty much all psionic buffs) cost 100 gp x effective power level (might be augmented) x manifester level. Potions are just better, though depending on the effect, maybe I can just barely craft it cheaper thanks to Extraordinary Artisan (Say, Inertial Armor or Force Screen for the party monk, competing with him buying a potion of mage armor from somewhere else)

Still... it seems like tattoos are inefficient and costly compared to potions (which are somewhat inefficient and costly already), but hey, it's a free crafting feat.

So, are there any good uses I can make of it?

In the Core Coliseum they're used sometimes (Chameleon, Synesthete, Vigor, Force Screen, Skate). If the other players are "expendable-phobic", they probably won't use them though -- except for Synesthete which is a nice cheap contingency for avoiding blindness, gaze weapons, etc.

If you can use Hyperconscious, definitely take the Permanent Tattoo feat (and/or the Pattern Master PrC)! "Slotless" items usable 1/day...

Probably the reason for the cost increase is that tattoos, I believe, can remain useful right up till the end of the game. That ML 20 Inertial Armor tattoo is much more useful than, for instance, a potion of Mage Armor.

Thanks for the tips.

It's become academic though, as I've decided to play a regular artificer so I can be more useful to the party (a paladin, a fighter, a rogue/monk, and a warlock. I can make items for everyone!)

That said, being academic isn't a bad thing here on the CO boards. Maybe someone else will play a psi-art and need this stuff, after all.
