| #1heliomanceDec 10, 2008 11:15:10 | I know I've seen somewhere a suit of fullplate with 0% ASF and 0 ACP. For the life of me, though, I can't find the thread. Anyone know where it is? |
| #2pithicaDec 10, 2008 11:55:14 | Mithril and Twilight are the only two armor bonuses that I know of that reduce ASF. Mithril also reduces ACP, as does Nimbleness. Twilight and Nimbleness can both be found in the Magic Item compendium. Mithril Twilight Fullplate of Nimbleness should have a ASF of 15% and a ACP of 0 (or -1, I can't remember if the reduction from Mithril and Masterwork stack). That's the best I can do with Full Plate. |
| #3heliomanceDec 10, 2008 12:05:07 | Oh, CO got a lot better than that. Throw Feycraft and Thistledown Padding into the mix, just for starters. I know how to get ASF all the way down, but I'm not sure how to get rid of the ACP as well. |
| #4pithicaDec 10, 2008 12:39:26 | Mithril and Nimbleness already gets ACP down to 0, assuming that Mithril stacks with Masterwork reduction (or -1 if it doesn't). Mithril Twilight Nimbleness Feycraft Fullplate still has an ASF of 5%, and an ACP of either -1 or -2. If you or anyone else knows of a way to get that last 5% or -2, there you go. |
| #5surrealDec 10, 2008 12:39:31 | Dread Commando (Heroes of Battle) will reduce ACP. Champion of Corellon Larethian (Races of the Wild) can increase your max Dex bonus and I think removes the speed penalty. Check my handy links under "armoru" for a few threads. |
| #6phaedrusxyDec 10, 2008 13:59:06 | From surreal's handy links: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=621174 The first post only uses a breastplate, though. Edit: Mithril Tesselated Fullplate of twilight & nimbleness. This gives you: light Armor (tumble is allowed, works w/ several class abilities, no movement penalty) Armor Check Penalty -0 Base AC +8 Dex Bonus +5 Armor Check Penalty: 5% Now add a thistledown undergarment and do your armor lubricant trick, and there you go. The thistledown undergarment removes the last 5% ASF. But it does add a +1 Armor Check penalty. This is why you want the armor lubricant, to bring this back down to zero. Or alternatively: Add githcraft (DMG2) to it to reduce the Arcane Spell Failure chance to 0%. And another: I hate to throw salt in your game, but..... Blue Ice can be made into armor that has no ASF for Cold-subtyped spells. Cast spells with Snowcasting(which turns any spell into a cold-subtyped spell) and run around with some weak cold resistance(to negate Blue Ice's weak penalties) and a blue ice-chest for your snow(to cast with) and you can wear full plate with a tower shield. Toss on Cold Focus and Greater Cold Focus for a +2 DC to all your spells, and you have a character made out of weapon-grade awesome. |
