| #1plaguewraithMar 29, 2008 5:24:33 | i have found a number of options for alternative homunculi that the artificer could make particularly in the monster manual IV. my question is are they worth the investment. the clockwork mender looks okay for any artificer that concentrates on his constructs. the clockroach is a bit odder, i don't know what i could do with it so any ideas also include any homunculi you think would be good from other books as well just not the one from the first monster manual okay |

| #3Chaos_RedefinedMar 29, 2008 21:44:18 | Customize it with additional hit die. Give it the skills and feats to be a UMD-weilder, for example. If you are really serious about it, take the improved homunculus feat from MoE. Taking UMD as an example, a 6HD homonculus can get 4 ranks, +3 from skilled, +3 from skill focus, +4 from shape soulmeld (Mage's Spectacles), +2 from masterwork tools and -2 from charisma. Totals up to +14. I'm sure someone can find another +5 that I've forgotten about. |
