I want some help setting a character who I want to be a Rogue and take the Assassin PrC.  This my first time making a Rogue.  My stats without any modification are Str: 14, Con: 15, Dex: 18; Wis: 14, Int: 17, Cha: 15  I would like her race to help her out as Rogue.

Would you rather play a character with the assassin presteige class or with the goal of becoming a killer for higher archetype, because there are many better ways then the presteige class to do that but if you heart is set on assassin we can work from there

I want to her to an expert infiltrator and a silent killer.  She is an assassin  and not a fighter.  I have decide not to take the Assassin PrC.  I do like the abilities that a Rogue has.  I have been think I am either a Half-Fiend Kelvezu ( Demon assassins from MM2) or a small humanoid.  Is the Death Attack any good? Should I get Weapon Finesse?  What about going the TWF route?

The whisper gnome race (Races of Stone, p94) gets a +4 racial bonus on hide and move silently checks. As a small race, it also gets a +4 size bonus on hide checks. This is great for infiltrating with stealth.

The changling race (Eberron Campaign Setting, p12) gets the innate ability to change shape to look like other humanoids. This results in a +10 bonus on disguise checks. This is great for infiltrating with deception.

The base classes most directly targeted at this sort of character are beguiler (Player's Handbook II, p6), factotum (Dungeonscape, p14). rogue, and swordsage (Tome of Battle, p15).

Kelvezu has +10 Str (21), +20 Dex (31), +6 Con (16), +6 Int (17), +6 Wis (16), +6 Cha (16).  I like the Whisper Gnome.  How offen would the following Whisper Gnome ability come into play?  +4 dodge bonus to Armor Class against monsters of the giant type (such as ogres, trolls, and hill giants).

From what I can tell, giants seem to make up less than 3% of monsters.

What's the la on your current race?

As far as I can tell, the Kelvezu (MM2) has 12 racial HD with no LA (here are the revised 3.5 stats, page 5: www.scribd.com/doc/904820/Monster-Manual...)

That is a lot of racial HD, but it also gives you great spell-likes, +8d6 SA, great DR, and a bunch of other great abilities.

I'd say that with ability scores that like enforcing LA for many species is rather pointless.  Actually it may just be pouring more salt in a wound as good gets better while someone with lesser stats and an LA is still inferior to what that character can be just being human.

I think he's talking about variants of the half-fiend template.

Yes I am taking the about the variant half-fiend you mentioned.  I am torn between the Whisper Gnome and the Half-Fiend Kelvezus as my race.  What about me giving my character Weapon Finesse as her first feat?

Unless you lead in with a full BAB class you cannot take Weapon Finesse at level 1, you can take Shadow Blade (if you're a Swordsage) or Two Weapon Fighting however.

If you intend to build a bonus damage based character, these are both solid choices.

The bonus damage swordsafe would actually be a great idea for what he is trying to do assassination infiltation and the stealth skill to build off what andarious said also if that isn't up your ally maybe a look at a swiftambusher would be smart or if you want to get really creative do a wizard or druid to do it could be flavourful and optimized out of the box basically

If I do give her the ability to cast it would only be to help her out as a killer and infiltrator.

I suppose with all the racial hit dice and la it wouldn't be worth It to go to casting

I want to kill my targets as fast as possible so would TWF help?

Yes but don't take Improved or Greater (Improved can be obtained by Gloves of the Balanced Hand and Greater's hardly ever a benefit).

Twf with bonus damage is most certainly going to increase your damage as long as you can reliably hit the target with the additional attacks

And let's not forget, begin the turn within a 5' step or a swift action of your opponenent. Full attacks are where this matters.
