I have a friend that is looking for a prestige class for a barbarian. So far I have found Rage Mage and Frenzy Berzerker. Does anyone know of another PrC for a Barbarian and in what source book it is in?

Thank in advance.

There are quite a few and it depends on what your friend is trying to do as a barbarian. Oddly enough Rage Mage is one of the worst (if you want magic, do Runescarred Berserker in Unapproachable East), while Frenzied Berserker is arguably one of the best (not for Frenzy - a wise berserker uses up all of his frenzies at the start of the day while alone in the forest, so he doesn't step on a tack and decapitate the mage. The real power here is improvement to Power Attack.). The only thing they have in common is that they're from the same book.

He is looking to imporve on his Rage, Power Attack, and Cleave ability. I know there are tons of classes that can be adapted to the barbarian. Trust me I am nearly a pro when it comes to creating the ultimate character. But I have never played a barbarian and nor have I really looked for barbarian PrC's.

Then he wants Frenzied Berserker. It's the only class that advances both Power Attack and Cleave (he took Cleave? Seriously?).

Some people like the War Hulk (miniatures handbook) as well, but it's not very good for Power Attack. Still, it gives very fast native Strength advancement and improves Cleave to work a bit better. (You can get something similar as a War Mind, but they can't be chaotic and you still can't rage and manifest powers.)

Yes, he actually did take Cleave. He is probably going to end up taking Frenzied Berserker. But he was wondering if there were any other barbarian classes that might work as well. I read the War Hulk once, a few years ago. The stedy Strength increase is nice, but if you don't have the base attack using power attack would be pointless.

Thanks for the assist Tempest. If you can think of any other PrC I would really appreciate it.

The only thing I would suggest looking into here is that, because he's forced to take Intimidating Rage for the berserker, he actually has access to a pretty good fear trick. The Imperious Command feat converts this into pretty serious action advantage (particularly when paired with the Never Outnumbered skill trick, although I'm not sure if this works with Intimidating Rage itself); Instantaneous Rage allows you to use it as an interrupt.

There's also the usual Ubercharger tricks (Shock Trooper, Pounce, Leap Attack, valorous weapons) which will get even meaner with the berserker's abilities in there, but you probably knew about these already.

If he's got feat timing problems, take two fighter levels: retrain those feats to Power Attack and Cleave, and use the two character feats freed up with those for Destructive Rage and Intimidating Rage. Alternatively, the two fighter levels will give you slots to work for ubercharging.
