| #1luminous_illumianMay 12, 2008 2:06:07 | Ok, a scenario: Let's assume I have a character with: - Levels in Warblade and the Revenant Blade PrC - The Maneuver Pouncing Charge - The feats Leap Attack, Shock Trooper and a Valorous Weapon. I'm aware that with these abilities I can use a full round action to initiate Pouncing Charge, charging an opponent and making a full attack at the end of the charge. I can take the power attack penalty from my AC thanks to Shock Trooper and my damage has some nice modifiers due to Valorous and Leap Attack. Now let's say I take the feat Battle Jump from UE. What I'm confused about is how Battle Jump affects the number of attacks you can make at the end of a charge, since initiating it only requires you 'simply drop from a height of at least 5ft above your opponent'. This would take a move action to do, right? So I use my move action to jump at an opponent and I make an attack at him, dealing double damage with the single attack. What if, however, I used the maneuver Sudden Leap to perform my jump as a swift action, initiating Battle Jump as I go. Since I've only used a swift action, does that mean that when I attack at the end of my movement, I can use a full attack action and get all of my attacks (along with all the bonuses for charging like Shock Trooper and Valorous, since Battle Jump 'executes a charge')? Battle Jump says that you can 'execute a charge', by performing the above movement, and normally at the end of a charge you only get one attack so this is what's confusing me. As a full round action, a charge is essentially movement (move action) plus an attack (a standard action). But if I use a swift action to move (Sudden Leap), then I still have sufficient actions remaining to make a full attack, what I don't know is whether or not this full attack gets all the bonuses granted by my feats when I charge. So, does anybody have any clarification on this? I apologise if I haven't be very clear, if my question hasn't come across then please let me know. I'm not sure if what I have in mind works, but it would be nice if it did. Cheers in advance. -LI |

I though I wouldn't be charging either, since technically I've only taken a move equivalent action, but Battle Jump seems to say that just by dropping onto your foes (a move equivalent action as far as I can see), you are considered to be 'charging'. Since I only take a swift action to make this movement, I have enough time left over to make a full attack, with each attack being treated as if I were charging. At least, this is a possible interpretation. Does anybody else have any ideas about this? I'd really appreciate some further clarification. -LI |
| #4curtis_ownbyMay 13, 2008 15:17:29 | Page 77 of the PH top right table DC20 to jump 5 feet. Which book is Battle Jump in by the wy, Page number would help as well. I do not think the maneuver would work just jumping down, the battle jump should work. |

This gives a +10ft enhancement bonus to my jumps, and they're all treated as being having a running start, so the swift action jumping maneuver should have enough power behind it to get me at least 5ft above a medium opponent. I'm still unsure on whether or not I can use Battle Jump to make a full attack charge at the end of this movement though. Anybody? -LI |
