Ok I know this is the op boards. well I have a problem, I was regulated to the 2nd fighter type. so I wanted to play a psionic type. It is in the realm of faerun...all books(core and splats) are ok. I rolled 18 17 16 15 15 14 for a high powered game. I am thinking aasimar soulknife/soulbow. I need help please I am not sure of the direction that i should go. but so far i dont have a clue. I have read the guide. I am hopping for more info from you guys.

2nd Fighter type? Psychic Warrior, you mean? You've read the guides from SHCOL?

So, basically, you want a Psionic Meleeist?

I was told I was going to make a fighter type, as we already have one and we need a 2nd. Sorry if I was not clear enough. Thank you for your help in advance. please let me know if you need any other info.

Equipment independence is key in WLD. I'd recomend an Incarnate. That could get you backup healing, great low-level melee capability, and ranged attacks later. You could also play a Binder going for Knight of the Sacred Seal. Ronove + Savnok + getting Mighty Wollop and Enlarge Person cast on you will really make for some great beats (plus, Full-Plate from L1 rocks).

Psychic Warriors are almost as equipment dependent as regular fighters, but I can envision one that focuses on the various Claws and uses the Vigor / Share Pain w/ his psicrystal to circumvent the armor dependence. As NC said, check the handbooks for some example builds; that could get you far.

You might try this:

lesser aasimar scout1/soulknife6/soulbow10/illumine soul3

You get tons of mind arrow enhancements and archery feat slots (make sure you have zen archery)

Soulknife is fairly pointless. Practically the whole class can be replicated using a few feats and a broken thing called buying a weapon. I think you might be able to semi-salvage it with a heavy dose of pyrokinetiscist, but even then the class is pretty useless.

As said above, PsyWar is your best option, though you might want to sprinkle in 1/2 levels of psion for utility powers.

Buying weapon is a tough function in WLD, but Soulknife = suckage, for sure.

Any ToB class? dip into some psywar and then go warmind. Then it doesn't matter if you're using the sword of kas or a stick, your ancient mountain hammer still hurts.

At higher levels, Inertial Armor will be better than any armor one could be expected to buy in a normal game, and it won't be long at all before an Extended one will last all day.

Claws of the Beast is a good suggestion. The Soulbound Weapon alternate class feature is another one.

The main problem with the PsyWar is the lack of PP, but your starting equipment should be able to carry you along for a while.

One big problem I've heard exists in WLD is the lack of food (if your DM likes to keep track of such things).

which is no problem for a Warforged character..... Warforged Psion(shaper) works fine

Also good in WLD is Kensai or Annointed Knight (both get weapon advancement)

Ocean Tattoo makes it so you don't have to eat, drink or breathe, I think? Same with Otherworldly feat. Same with Ring of Sustenance. For food items, you want a Travel Cloak. Vow of Poverty if you want to go itemless.

For WLD I'd reccomend a factotum 1, fighter 2, swashbuckler 1, duskblade 1, chameleon 10, xxx 5... If you're the extra character, chameleon lets you fill in for whoever's gotten themselves disabled or killed. Just think, with a 16 wisdom you can bring someone back from the dead in a pinch (cast up to 5th level spells with a cl of 14) and still be a solid fighter. Or you could pick up the dead wizard's spellbook and take his/her/its place... Just a thought.

I'd play Binder all the way. Improved Binding at 1st + Savnok = you get free fullplate. Or, Malphus + Bird's Eye Viewing for (essentially) unlimited Clairaudience/Clairvoyance for the whole dungeon (its so freakin' true!) ahead of time. Or, Aym and/or Dahlver-Nar, punishing enemies for attacking you. Binders rock WLD... check out the binder handbook in my sig.

Alternatively, an Incarnate focused on Dissolving Spittle at L1 will keep you out of melee yet you'll be keeping up with the warriors for straight damage. At L2 you make an incarnum zombie, which is stronger for about 3-4 levels than any other melee warrior.

Malphas is simply summoning a bird and you get its vision. That's what you mean yes? It's only one bird BTW. There could be multiple passages. I have never played WLD or studied it.

Its one bird that you see through that has no range on the effect. Summon as many birds as possible (but only 1 at a time)!

Oh... wait a minute... that might not work due to the weird summoning rules of WLD. Maybe you can stand outside the dungeon, then send it in :D

No question, Elan Ardent Gish.

Ardents are both excellent melee powerhouses (if you want them to be) and have enough other powers to make them versatile. They have Call Weaponry and Call Armor as powers if you fear item dependency.

And because of their weird/awesome/unique/versatile manifesting progression you could easily smack a Ranger/ Slayer combo ontop with almost no sacrifice. Or Sanctified Mind 6... or Feat Rogue 2... or Incarnate 4... or binder 4... or Monk 2/ Paladin with Serneity feat 2.

EDIT: And Elan + lots of Power Points + Improved Elan feats = win.

Especially since you can take the feat that allows you to reduce 4 points of damage by spending 1 power point. Elans for the win, probably a good idea to throw in some levels of psion to get the extra power points
