So in an upcoming campaign I will be playing a Beguiler (Shining South) Beguiler (PHB2).

My build so far is this

  1. Beguiler - B: Multiattack, Versatile Spellcaster, Heighten Spell, Invisible Spell 2x flaws

  2. Wizard - B: Scribe Scroll

  3. Wizard - Weapon Finesse

  4. Wizard

  5. Spellthief

  6. Unseen Seer - Master Spellthief

  7. Unseen Seer - B: Silent Spell

  8. Ultimate Magus

  9. Ultimate Magus - Craven

  10. Ultimate Magus

  11. Ultimate Magus

  12. Ultimate Magus - Extend Spell, B: Persistant Spell

  13. Ultimate Magus

  14. Ultimate Magus

  15. Ultimate Magus - Chain Spell

  16. Ultimate Magus - B: Quicken Spell

  17. Ultimate Magus

  18. Unseen Seer - ?

  19. Unseen Seer

  20. Unseen Seer

So I'm kinda stuck on what feats to take and also how my caster level works out with this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Otherwise I guess I could just stick with beguiler and take a level in Mindbender or something at 6th level to offset the Advanced Learning to get Shadow Conjuration. Something like Beguiler 6/ Mindbender 1/ Beguiler X (Maybe some Divine Oracle, Spellthief or Rogue level + Unseen Seer, or something)

That's not really a Beguiler. It's a Wizard with some Beguiler perks. IIRC, you need 2 levels of Spellthief for Master Spellthief, too.

Why bother with Multiattack or Weapon Finesse? Are you a gish? No.

Where's Versatile Spellcaster? Empower/Maximize/Sculpt Spell?

I should have added that I'll probably be the main arcane spellcaster and roguish character for the party. Small campaign with a DM, 3 players, and no access to DMPCs or hired NPCs.

Master Spellthief
Your arcane studies allow you to mingle arcane magic of
different flavors for great effect.
Prerequisite: Ability to cast 2nd-level arcane spells,
steal spell.

You get steal spell at 1st level of spellthief.

Beguiler gets multiattack for free as a bonus racial feat.

Where's Versatile Spellcaster? Empower/Maximize/Sculpt Spell?

Now that's what I needed. Versatile Spellcaster would work great. Not sure about the other metamagics yet.

If you're doing UlM, you need to think about metamagic, as one of the most powerful features of UlM is their free metamagic.

I personally really like Chain Spell in combo with the UlM

Chain Spell looks nice.

I could drop the last 3 levels of Unseen Seer for Incantatrix for even more metamagic. I still need some roguish elements left in though for the campaign hence the beguiler/spellthief/unseen seer levels.

I like the unseen seer levels. I built almost the exact same thing once as a Shadow Creature human (yes, I know lot's of lost caster levels=bad) to use as a spy and it worked quite well. The nondetection effect from unseen seer is crazy good for that sort of thing.
