| #1temporaldancerFeb 11, 2010 13:24:32 | So, during a brainstorming session involving me, Races of the Wild, and a bottle of whiskey, I came up with this crazy idea, though I need some help with it. The Build: Wizard 1/Druid 7/Arcane Heirophant 1/Fleshwarper 1/Arcane Heirophant +9/Beastmaster 1 Concept: Using the Fleshwarper ability to aberrate my familiar (in the +1 size catagory way), and the Arcane Heirophant's ability to make your Animal Companion pretend it's a familiar, make the biggest, meanest animal aberration I can. Feats: 1: Sanctum Spell 3: Natural Bond 6: Skill Focus (Handle Animal) 9: Graft Flesh All other feats are free, as is selection of race. Druid casts as 17th level, Wizard casts 11th level, and Effective Druid level is 24 for Animal Companion. Obviously, this runs into issue if you use a stock wolf, or some other type, however instead I have opted for a Tyrannosaurus. I know that it's less of an optimized choice than Megaraptor, or myriad other choices, however Megaraptor seemed less Godzilla-like to me, thus the T-rex. The part that is giving me a problem, though, is the idea of riding in the belly of the beast, so to speak, so I'll always be within 5 feet for Share Spell and the like. I don't doubt my ability to do the concentration check, but survival may be problematic without some means of mitigating the damage. Any suggestions/critique/random comments are welcome! |

I read about it recently and discarded it. [-0800 12:49 February 11, 2010] "Enspell Familiar "Little More Familiar, A" Stephen Kenson 280(62) D&D3"
Familiarity, reference 3. Odd that I swear I've seen "Enspell Familiar" before, yet I haven't D280, thus I couldn't have read it recently. Reference 4 is now ready. There's also a new Darkness Familiar thingy (reference 5). yfrog.com/0td322p67spellsofshadowp

| #7temporaldancerFeb 12, 2010 14:03:35 | Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have to put Companion Spellbond in Feats. To answer questions, no, this wasn't inspired by the Ubermount build, though looking at that, there is no way this gets even close to outdoing it. |
| #8PlzBreakMyCampaignFeb 14, 2010 19:18:31 | Concept: Using the Fleshwarper ability to aberrate my familiar (in the +1 size catagory way), and the Arcane Heirophant's ability to make your Animal Companion pretend it's a familiar, make the biggest, meanest animal aberration I can. I love how when other people do this, its okay. But when I do it, people don't like me using the same thing... |
