How can a dry lich (sandstorm) operate with a minimum of hindrance under water?

I have a few Ideas but none real good. The less power/spells/items/etc needed the better

1. otilukes telekenetic sphere

2. a ship and using submerge ship

Planar Bubble at spell level 7 (Spell Compendium)? Forgot what level telekinetic sphere is.

Well, it'd only work if the creature's native plane wasn't the prime material, yeah. And its rather roundabout and costly just for what you want, but it was the only other alternative I could think of.

It feels as if there should be some easy way to do it. It just doesn't come to mind.

I'd just ask the DM about houseruling a dry suit, like scuba divers use. Model it off the distillation suit, or whatever it is called, in Sandstorm that lets you recycle your own water (just like in Dune...).

Nov 17, 2009 16:29:15 The simplest way is the Necklace of Adaptation from the DMG, its 9000 gp, and it surrounds you in a bubble of breathable air that would keep you dry. It specifically states that it works underwater or even in a vacuum.
