Best 1 Level Arcane Dip?

Jul 03, 2010 15:25:01 What are the best arcane prestige classes for dipping a single level of? There is of course Mindbender (no prereqs of note, gain telepathy), but is there anything else?

0. Spellcasting advancement at 1st level
1. Incredible abilities
2. Easy access (few prereqs, and thus few wasted resources)
3. Rapid Access (5th level or below, ie a class that requires only second level spells, or 5 ranks in a skill)
4. +1 Casting and +1 BAB
X. 3.5 material is preferable

Jul 03, 2010 15:30:39 Spelldancer. Persist EVERYTHING! And of course the Tainted Scholar for well, Taint. Provides massive boosts to both spells per day and spell DCs.

I seem to remember several threads about dips... One was about "+1 BAB, +1 spellcasting level" classes.

Ruathar (RotW) is not very interesting, but it's hard to beat in ease of access.

Really for anything. Seems broad, but looking through the books, there really aren't that many that are just fantastic on either abilities or access. I'd say though that a great dip would have one or more of the following traits:

0. Spellcasting advancement at 1st level
1. Incredible abilities
2. Easy access (few prereqs, and thus few wasted resources)
3. Rapid Access (5th level or below, ie a class that requires only second level spells, or 5 ranks in a skill)
4. +1 Casting and +1 BAB
X. 3.5 material is preferable
